Camp Ebb and Flow

10 sites · RVs, Tents11 acres · Orford, NH
Camp Ebb and Flow is located on the western edge of the White Mountains, near the crossing of the Appalachian Trail and a short drive to VT. Three lakes nearby for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. Hiking trails nearby. The camp offers RV sites with water, electricity, and sewer, an RV site with no hookups, and several tent sites. One of the tent sites has water and electricity and another has electricity with nearby water. There is an "outhouse" with a flush toilet and over six acres of mowed fields for activities and walking. There is also a lovely brook running through the property with many areas you can cool off in from the summer heat. This property has a lengthy history going back to colonial times. It’s been a farm, an apple orchard, and once had a sawmill. Please check the calendar for available dates. Check-in is no later than 9pm unless late arrival arrangements have been made prior to booking. Whenever possible, try to arrive before dark because there are no lights at most sites, which can make setup difficult. A note regarding electric vehicles (EV): If you have an electric vehicle and would like to tent camp, please select one of our full hookup RV sites. If you have the proper electric adapter for your vehicle, you can charge your vehicle at the 30A or 50A RV plug while tenting in the field near the RV site. We do not supply these adapters, and we cannot allow you to charge your vehicle unless you have reserved an RV site with full hookups. If you do not see an open site for the days you'd like to get away, please contact us. Sometimes we can make other arrangements, allowing you to stay.

Willoughby Farm Animal Rescue

9 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents107 acres · Fairlee, VT
We are a 107-acre forest and farm animal rescue. Sleep with the sheep, alpacas, donkeys, potbellied pigs, and rabbits when you pitch your tent or park your camper on our Vermont Farm! Reserve the group site and sleep in the middle of the action! (You do not need a "group" to reserve the group site -- it is just our biggest site and can accommodate groups!). Co-located in the open, grassy area with the free-roaming farm rescues is our RV site. Co-located sites share a community fire ring, so it's a great way to meet and make new friends! Don't have a tent or RV? Spend a magical night in "The Greenhouse" (it's a real, working greenhouse that doubles as accommodations for those looking for a more "glamping" experience). Want a little privacy? Reserve one of our two tricked-out Tent Deck sites (Buddha North and Grandmother Pine), each with its own picnic table, private fire ring, and commercial-grade park grill. Nestled discretely in the forest adjacent to the area where the animals are, you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere even though you are less than a 5-minute walk from your car! Looking for something a bit more remote and spectacular? Hike a half-mile to the Big Sky Tent Deck. An incredible vista awaits you for a little effort! Need gear? We have it for rent, from cast iron grill baskets and griddles to make cooking over a charcoal grill or fire a breeze to tents to 1- and 2- burner propane stoves to tarps to water containers. We even have an Anker Portable Power Station and Portable Kerosene Heater for rent! Need Supplies? Charcoal? Propane? We've got it. ----- We are a small non-profit (501c3). When you stay with us, rent equipment from us, or take a tour with us, 100% of the money you pay goes directly for the care and feeding of the rescue animals. Thanks for supporting us in making a difference in the lives of neglected, abused, and abandoned farm animals! ----- CAMP FOR FREE WEEKEND SEPT 20-21 2024 Come for the weekend and make a difference in the lives of Rescues. Spend the weekend helping us prep for Winter, maintaining and building fencing, planting daffodils, clearing brush, pitchforking manure (important and necessary work), hoof trimming, painting, and everything in between. Watch the sunset from the Big Sky Tent Deck on the Equinox. Sit around campfires with new friends. Eat great food -- we'll make you dinner each evening! Just (1) message us that you are interested and (2) sign up on the event page on our Facebook profile. ----- CHECK-IN TIME: 3:00 p.m.—7:00 p.m. Please arrive within this time window. If absolutely necessary, you may purchase a check-in extension for $15 in advance or $30 on arrival.

Sunnybrook Farm

1 site · RV, Tent15 acres · South Royalton, VT
One of the oldest properties in town the Day Homestead (as it is known) dates back hundreds of years and our house was built in 1810. It was run as a successful trout farm of 70+ years. Learn more about this land: We have two sites on our historic Vermont trout farm.  The first site sits near our post and beam "run in" horse barn.  It's a very flat site with easy road access and has 30 AMP electric service and we can provide potable water to fill up your tank. The second site sits a little further back (also very easy access) and closer to Quation Brook. It is better suited for boondocking as it is a little ways from the 30 AMP outlets. Again water is available. Our farm is very rural but close (2 miles) to interstate 89 with a well stocked country store in town. It's a  quiet setting near the gardens and a small stream. We are a small hobby farm that grows and sells produce to local coops.  We also produce and sell Vermont maple syrup and salsa.

River, stream, or creek RV camping near Lebanon with electricity hookup and water hookup guide

Overview

In the heart of the Upper Valley, along the Connecticut River, the small New Hampshire city of Lebanon offers many activities including arts and entertainment and easy access to an array of year-round outdoor adventures, such as kayaking along the winding river in summer and skiing on the surrounding snow-covered mountains in winter. Attractions in the city itself include the Colburn Park Historic District, where you’ll find Colburn Park and many 19th-century buildings, and the Lebanon Opera House, which is the setting for concerts and other performances.

Where to go

Hanover

Just six miles north of Lebanon, Hanover is renowned as the home of the Ivy League Dartmouth College, the grounds of which you can explore. The Hood Museum of Art is another top attraction, but the hamlet also appeals to nature lovers with many trails to choose from, including several up Mount Monadnock and the Appalachian Trail, which runs down Main Street.

Quechee

A 15-minute drive takes you over the Vermont border and into Quechee, best known for its gorge and mountains that provide excellent terrain for skiing and other winter sports. Visitors can set up camp at Quechee State Park Campground.

Mount Cardigan

Thirty minutes east, the 3,155-foot treeless, rock summit of Mount Cardigan draws many hikers who can enjoy views that extend as far as Camel's Hump in Vermont and Pleasant Mountain in Maine. Camping is available at Appalachian Mountain Club's Cardigan Lodge.

White Mountains

The White Mountain National Forest and various New Hampshire state parks encompass much of central New Hampshire, making the area a haven for outdoor adventurers. Less than an hour and a half from Lebanon, Franconia Notch State Park offers hiking, biking, and climbing, as well as two campsites.

When to go

Spring and summer are ideal for enjoying the trails and river activities, making these the most popular seasons to visit Lebanon and the surrounding area, although you should be prepared for crowds in the peak summer season. September and October have a different appeal, with cooler temperatures and the landscape busting into rich fall colors. Winters are relatively crowd-free and offer winter sports activities.
