The Historic Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike from the first colonizing family to claim ownership of this unceded land, the McCrillis family. Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an ecofriendly, Intentional lifestyle. PLEASE READ:
Sorry but Absolutely NO discharging firearms or fireworks. They are prohibited due to dry fields, other campers and neighboring houses. Side note there is a gun range a few miles away!
If needed Propane Firepits and easy pull wagons will be provided for each site except site 4 at the moment. You just need to bring a BBQ propane tank to hook up to the firepit. One full tank usually 4-5 nights. The store a couple miles away sells and exchanges them. You will park by the road, grab a cart (if needed) in the red shed and walk through the field (mowed walkway) to your specific site. When leaving please be respectful for the next campers. Make sure the site is clean, Firepit cover put back on and all garbage taken out with you. Please put carts back in the shed for the next hipcampers to use. Thanks!

To get to your reserved site just walk to the left around the red shed and follow the mowed path through the field until it splits into three paths. Site one is to the left. Site 2 the middle path. Site 3 is the right path.

Campers Welcome to The Wolf Swamp.

The property used to be part of the old Johanson farm, it was a 200 acre dairy farm a hundred years ago. when the State put in the highway (I-93) in 1961 it split the farmland in half. So now there are a hundred acres on each side of the Highway.
The old stagecoach road which runs through the property from Canterbury Station to Northfield Station is now part of the main trails system.
The early Pony Express riders dubbed the swamp on the land "Wolf Swamp", because there were many reports of riders seeing Wolves in the Swamp.
The property is very open, although the sites are very spread out and secluded
for ultimate privacy. There are several great hiking trails on the property, also used by local mountain bikers and Horseback Riding. Occasionally there will be
an ATV or Dirt Bike passing through. We are located in the Heart of the local Trail system.
There are several great places to swim and Kayak or Canoe literally around the
corner. There are also lots of great local attractions close by, many that have
Farm Stores, Shops, Homemade Gifts, Breads, Pies, Cheeses and we even have a few local Breweries. There is something for everyone, just ask and we will
point you in the Right Direction.

Welcome! This spot offers a rare chance to camp by a mossy brook, with its waterfalls, whirlpools, glacial boulders, and pools. We are Brad and Christine, and we are excited to share our off grid pocket of eastern forest. This magical site overlooks a mountain spring fed brook. The thick moss practically glows on the rocks, as the brook runs under a thick canopy of trees. As the brook leaves our land, it passes under a centuries old, hand hewn, granite bridge. All of which can be seen from the site. What can't be seen is houses, street lights, or traffic. The sky at night offers wonderful views of the heavens, undiluted by ambient human light.
The property is 12 acres, surrounded by thousands of acres of private, undeveloped land. This is a rare spot, that is on the edge of wildness, but is only 9 minutes from a grocery store, pharmacy and EV charging station. Across the dirt road from us is our neighbors pasture with a changing cast of farm animals, including donkeys, horses, sheep, and pigs.
We are in the Lakes region of New Hampshire. The property is in Wolfeboro, which has been attracting visitors since 1749 and is the oldest summer resort town in America. We are 40 minutes from downtown, on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee, which is the largest lake in New Hampshire. This quaint town offers shops, cafe's, restaurants, boat rentals and lake cruises. The fishing is legendary. There are many other beautiful towns to explore in this region, our personal favorite being Sandwich. This area is known for its many outdoor activities, with hiking and mountain biking trails, lakes and rivers to Kayak or canoe. We are only a few minutes drive to the Cotton Valley Rail Trail. If seeing the Atlantic ocean calls to you, we are an hour from the Maine and New Hampshire coasts, with its rocky outcroppings and sandy beaches. You can't go wrong with its historic port towns like Portsmouth in NH and York, Kennebunkport, and Ogunquit, Maine.

If you enjoy glamping in the fall months this beautiful cabin is the place for you! Overlooking the beautiful Connecticut river. The cabin is ready for you to come and relax!
This cabin sleeps two people and the property is such a peaceful spot!
We have a rustic outhouse and showers can be taken in the main farmhouse on the property if you would like, available Monday thru Saturday from 8am to 9am.
The cabin is outfitted with a comfy bed, fridge, and microwave. We sell firewood to sit around a cozy campfire at night and stargaze! You can even purchase a S'mores package as well!
Enjoy a cup of coffee from the Keurig machine in the mornings. Bottled water is included as well.
We will do our best to make you feel at home away from home. In a way that is never intrusive, we respect your privacy. Come and unwind with nature all around you.
We are very pet friendly! And ask that all dogs are on a leash while outside. Also pets are not to be left in the cabins unattended at any time.
So with all that said get yourself and your pets here and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on your deck looking out to the river. Don't set an alarm, the loons or geese may wake you first! Listen to the birds and relax! And if luck is with you, you might spot a bald eagle!

Welcome to the Campsites at CoHo: Conway Hostel!
Camping here at the hostel is a great option for those who are looking for the economic price point and rugged nature of camping, while still having the amenities of modern living.
"What should I expect my experience to be like?"
Being a hostel, the experience we offer is a community focused one. Sites are setup similar to rooms in the hostel. They are located in fairly close proximity to one another and feature (in addition to private fire pits in the sites) one large community fire ring at the center of the property.
Parking and camping are located at the rear of the Hostel property. Out back features several campsites, a community fire ring, picnic table, and charcoal grill. Parking is first come, first serve, but there is plenty of street parking available along Washington St (Summertime street parking. In winter, town hall may be used as overflow parking.).

For Sites 1-4, the hostel is yours to access. Use the back porch and side entrances (Access code will be given to you during check-in). Inside you’ll find… Full community kitchen, bathrooms/hot showers, dining area, and lounge area.
For Primitive Sites, there is a shared picnic table, fire pit, and porta-john available
Dorm style bathroom facilities on the second floor have two toilets and shower stalls each.

Overview

New Hampshire state parks offer a wide variety of camping experiences from primitive tent sites to lakeside RV spots with prime mountain views.
Where to go
Mount Washington
Sitting at 6,288 feet in eastern New Hampshire, Mount Washington is the tallest peak in New England, famous for its extreme weather. (The highest recorded wind speed outside of a tornado, 231 miles per hour, was measured at the Mount Washington Observatory atop the summit.) Mount Washington is on the Appalachian Trail and visitors can hike, drive, or take the Mount Washington Cog Railway up to the summit.
Franconia Notch State Park
In the heart of the White Mountains, Franconia Notch State Park is one of the most family-friendly state parks in New Hampshire and packed with natural wonders including Flume Gorge, Cloudland Falls, and Echo Lake. Lafayette Place Campground is a nice family campground right in the center of the park, near many trailheads and top sights, with a camp store and 97 campsites ideal for tent campers. Nearby Cannon Mountain RV Park offers seven RV sites with full hook-ups and a dump station.
White Mountain National Forest
The 800,000-acre White Mountain National Forest offers some of the best camping in the state. Renowned for its mountain scenery, abundant wildlife, and stunning fall foliage, the park is home to over a thousand miles of trails that weave through the rugged terrain for hikers, mountain bikers, snowshoers, ATVs, and snowmobiles. Overnight visitors will find 23 national forest campgrounds, backcountry huts, and cabin rentals.
When to go
Summer through early fall is the best time for camping, hiking, canoeing, and kayaking in New Hampshire. Snow tends to linger on peaks into early June, and mosquitoes can be the most troublesome in July. Fall, when the changing leaves are at their peak, is an especially popular time to visit. Be sure to make camping reservations during this time well in advance. Some New Hampshire state park campgrounds, including Lafayette Place in Franconia Notch, remain open year-round, although off-season services are limited.
Know before you go
- Camping reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance online or over the phone for New Hampshire state parks. Rates vary by the campground, with senior rates available. Monadnock State Park, Bear Brook State Park, Pawtuckaway State Park, and White Lake State Park feature some of the most popular New Hampshire campgrounds; advanced reservations are strongly recommended.
- Many New Hampshire state parks have pet restrictions. Some do not allow them at all and others prohibit them on beaches, swimming areas, and picnic areas.
- Numerous backcountry campsites and shelters exist in the White Mountains. Most are free to use as long as you adhere to White Mountain National Forest backcountry camping rules.
- Weather in New Hampshire can be challenging and unpredictable. Come prepared with rain gear and extra layers, even in summer.
