Sunshine, Serenity and Sierras

1 site · RV, Tent12 acres · Reno, NV
We love to pass our free time here in the sunshine and juniper drafts overlooking the Sierras. Some days we watch the electric storms across the valley, other afternoons we picnic and nap while listening to the birds and wind.  We love the peace and silence, which feels remarkably remote and only 20 minutes from Reno.  Learn more about this land: We would love to share our 12 junipered acres with nature enthusiasts like ourselves. Bring your tent or camper and spend afternoons watching beautiful sunsets and wildlife from our land.  Spectacular expansive views across the valley to the Sierras and Mount Rose.  Conveniently 15 minutes from South Reno (40 minutes from North Lake Tahoe), the silence and absolute privacy here are restorative and replenishing.  We do not have trash collection services available and we ask all guest to practice a “leave no trace” philosophy.  **Because of extreme fire risk in our area we ask guests to refrain from having campfires for now. As this area is home to beautiful wildlife (and a few other distant homeowners) please visit with an intent to respect the quiet and privacy that makes this area so pleasurable for us all.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your time!

The Vintage Trailer Vineyard was born of Susan’s love for all things vintage, nature and hospitality. "We once spent a romantic weekend in a Stone House in the middle of a Napa Valley Vineyard." That distant memory, and the beauty that surrounds the Walker River Estate inspired us to create our own version of a unique and special Vintage Vineyard Getaway. We also do a select and limited number private events, retreats, celebrations and wine tastings. Planting & cultivating vineyards and making wine at 5400 foot elevation in the shadow of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, Greg is living a lifelong dream after 30 years as a wine importer. Currently at 900 vines and growing, we have had success in bottling award winning "Garage wines" with an eye toward going commercial one day. The vineyards surround the house and winery, sitting on a bench above the Walker River in Southern Douglas CountyLearn more about this land:Imagine your own private vineyard RV space with gorgeous Mountain and vineyard views. Camping near Incline Village with horseback riding guide

Overview

On the eastern end of North Lake Tahoe, the largest town on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe is known for its beautiful views, particularly from its many lakeshore mansions and private beaches. Incline Village also offers easy access to the outdoors, with the Flume Trail, East Shore Trail, and Diamond Peak Ski Resort all in town, while nearby Lake Tahoe-Nevada State Park is home to both Sand Harbor Beach and the Spooner Backcountry. Campers can stay in town in a cabin with amenities, or pitch a tent in the backcountry along the Tahoe Rim Trail or in the Mt. Rose Wilderness, or seasonally at the Mt. Rose Campground.

Where to go

Lake Tahoe

Incline Village sits on the northeast corner of Lake Tahoe, the largest alpine lake in the country, with 72 miles of shoreline. Head south along the Nevada side of the lake for RV and tent camping at Zephyr Cove and Nevada Beach Campground, or Campground by the Lake in the heart of South Lake Tahoe. Head west towards Tahoe City for lakeside camping options, including at Tahoe State Recreation Area and at William Kent Campground. On the opposite side of the lake, find scenic camping options at D.L. Bliss State Park and Emerald Bay State Park.

Truckee and Tahoe National Forest

Northwest of Incline Village is the popular mountain town of Truckee. Camp along the Truckee River at several campgrounds south of town or head to Prosser, Boca, or Stampede reservoirs or Donner Memorial State Park for water recreation and lakeside and forest camping. Or choose from one of dozens of developed forest service campgrounds in the Tahoe National Forest surrounding Truckee.

High Desert and Valley

For high desert camping, head east over the mountains down to Washoe Valley, which offers year-round camping options around Washoe Lake at Washoe Lake Campground and at Davis Creek Campground. Further south, Carson City, the capital of Nevada, offers several RV parks. Or head east on Highway 50 for history and year-round camping at Dayton State Park and Fort Churchill State Park.

When to go

With its location right on the shores of Lake Tahoe, Incline Village sees the most visitors over the summer. The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival at Sand Harbor is held in July and August each year. Winter is also a popular to visit, especially with Diamond Peak and Mount Rose ski resorts so close to town. Spring and fall are good times to visit for outdoor activities and smaller crowds.
