This was a great fall trip! We had an excellent time in the primative pasture campsite, in view of the rams. We explored all around the farm and were only 20 minutes away from interstate park. The icecream and other goodies in the barn shop were great! We spent lots of time with the alpacas and sheep, the hosts were super friendly as well. We heard cranes, coyotes, and moles milling around at night!

We camped right next to the sheep and cows and my kids LOVED the experience. Christine and Jamie were incredibly warm and welcoming, inviting us to join them in farm chores. There’s plenty of room to roam and animals to visit. We’ll definitely be back and we’ll be sure to bring our boots like other reviewers recommended!

The campsite at Christine's place was so beautiful. We enjoyed the privacy and the views of the lake were fantastic. We loved that firewood was provided at no extra charge and kayaks were available to rent.

Weekend Trip to Hoppensteadt Hills
Very last minute, I realized I needed to go camping: my stay in Site 1, Birch, was just what I was seeking for some nature nurturing. The site was private as promised (in fact I had whole campground to myself) and beautifully tucked in the woods. The yurt tent is well designed (side pockets, table in middle around center pole, also with pockets for stashing gear). Outhouse was a bit of a hike, though even the walk was pleasant, and so clean: the automatic light inside (and solar lights outside) was unexpected nice touch! I enjoyed the barred owl, sand hill cranes at night; great blue heron on one of our hikes on the property. I didn't think about it being duck hunting season, so the early morning and late evening distant gun sounds were scary for my dog, and the 2nd night fox barking was quite startling! But a good reminder we're in the woods! Maryam was helpful with answering questions during booking.

This was our 3rd time at Jamie and Christine's and we had a great time once again! They are such gracious hosts to include us in the farm chores and interact with the kids. Pro tip: Don't forget your work or rain boots! We love your farm!! See you soon :)

1 night at Hoppensteadt Hills
We had a nice stay at Maryam’s campsite. The tent was clean and the area was peaceful, which made for a relaxing night. We arrived after dark and quickly realized how dark it gets since there are no exterior lights provided—definitely recommend bringing plenty of lanterns or flashlights. The grass and surrounding area could use a bit of trimming as it was a little overgrown, and we did notice quite a few large spiders both on and inside the tent, so keep that in mind if you’re not a fan of bugs. The queen-sized air mattress we brought barely fit inside the tent, but it worked out okay. The host wasn’t super responsive, but we did appreciate being able to check out late, which was a nice touch. Overall, the experience was good and we gave it five stars.

Weekend Trip to Hoppensteadt Hills
I had a wonderful weekend at Mary Ann's property. I was in the Birch site which was very private, with lots of trees. There was a place to hang my hammock and the yurt was very comfortable. Have a beautiful trails to walk on, and I could hear lots of wildlife. Marianne was very warm and welcoming and can't think of one single complaint.

Staying here exceeded all of our expectations. Christine and Jamie were so kind and accommodating, our family had an absolute blast. We just needed somewhere to stay, but I feel we made friends and can’t wait to go back some day. The animals were such a pleasure as well, and the bonfire pit was very nice.

We absolutely had a marvelous camping weekend at Maryam‘s land. The whole family is so friendly if you want to connect. There are four sites far enough apart, where you feel like you’re the only ones there, with an occasional friendly noise further away. Our anxious dog had the best time exploring and felt very safe being away from our suburban neighborhood. They clearly take good care of their land, they even have the most beautiful and delicious Honeycrisp apple farm – do yourself a favor and buy a bag on your way out. The Porta potty is the cleanest one I’ve ever been in. Ever. Smells great, Maryam said they switch it out every week, there’s even a mirror in there and it’s always fully stocked. It was a highlight! There are beautiful paths to explore – plenty of quiet time in the canopy of woods to read, play games, cook over the fire. Having the large, clean tent already set up made the weekend a bonus! We could fit 1 queen sized air mattress, 2 cots, and still had plenty of space for our stuff. We had a wonderful weekend – we’ll be back and will recommend to others!

Tim was super friendly and helpful, but also was intentional about giving us space. The land is gorgeous and the self-service aspect was honestly really nice. That barn store is incredible. There was one sheep that was the sweetest girl we have ever met.

My two year old and I had a great stay and Tim was very kind and friendly. We enjoyed the campsite, the flowers, and the alpaca farm. It's also very close to a nice beach, which we enjoyed in the afternoon!

Camping here was an amazing experience, the trails are beautiful and so is the campsite itself. It was very private and clean. Staying here gave me a sense of solitude my wife and I were looking for to get away from our hectic lives!
