Another incredible weekend spent at the sugar shack! We spend July 4th there and circled back for Halloween. Feels like two completely different magical places. Colors were wonderful and kept plenty warm by the fire. Outhouse was in great shape, even at the end of the season. They really take pride in this property and it shows. Great thanks for another great stay!

Very cool historic cabin surrounded by a marsh. My dog had a great time exploring the area. The owners put in a great propane heater and I had a nice warm evening in the cabin. Would definitely return!

This was my second time at this lovely spot. Beth is a wonderful and accommodating host. The site has everything. I car camped in a Subaru. The site includes a full 18 hole disc golf course. If like me you are not into that, it makes for a nice little walking trail in the woods. I would recommend it to anyone especially in the fall. It is beautiful.
The only thing I would mention is that in the area are both a motorcycle club and a shooting range. Both can be heard. Just something to help set expectations if you are expecting only nature sounds. It wasn’t off putting for me.

Weekend Trip to Baggins Inn
An amazing place to stay if you are looking for a private rustic getaway! My boyfriend and I picked this site to take our 9mo old puppy camping for the first time and it was an incredible experience. We did a lot of hiking, cooking, and relaxing. We saw deer, possums, and turkeys! Just remember to do tick checks!

Weekend Trip to Baggins Inn
My husband and I travel all over the country and we have stayed at unique locations over the years. This was a unanimous vote for our very favorite. The setting is something straight out of the cinema. You have 360 views of nature and serenity. The cabin is an art installation. It’s phenomenal. The attention to detail is incredible. The smell of it is something I’d wear like perfume. There is no power and low reception and that’s just what we were looking for. The bathroom is a short walk from the cabin. We brought cute little camping lights that made our stay all the more magical. The sounds of the forest around you and the way the sun and moon both shine down in the woodland is magnificent. We weren’t even checked out before deciding we need to plan a trip back. 10/10.

The site was wonderfully isolated and the course was fun and challenging for our group's variety of experience levels. Plenty of space for our multiple setups and everything was well-stocked and maintained.

Weekend Trip to Sugar Shack Disc Golf Campground
Great campsite, a lot of space and privacy. The owners put a lot of nice amenities in like the nice pit bathroom, lights, and the grill. We played multiple rounds of discgolf on our short stay and loved having it on the site. Course is heavily wooded, rough, but fun.

We loved our stay at sugar shack! Beth went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed every moment, she even left birthday ballon’s to welcome us. The property is incredible! The camping area has everything you could possibly need and the outhouse is very clean and well maintained.
Of course the disc golf course was the highlight of our stay! It’s clear the hosts have poured a tremendous amount of time and care into both the property and their guests experience. We cannot wait to come back in the future!

As seasoned campers who’ve explored the USA for decades, I only give honest reviews, and Sugar Shack truly blew us away! This was one of our best camping experiences since the mid-80s—no kidding! The well-maintained facilities, and stunning surroundings created an unforgettable adventure. We especially enjoyed the disc golf course and other fun games provided, which added a fantastic touch to our stay. Beth was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. From the peaceful atmosphere to the starry nights and perfect tent/RV setup, this place exceeded all expectations. If you’re seeking a top-tier camping experience, Sugar Shack is a must-visit. We’re already planning our return!

This place was absolutely perfect for our first anniversary. We were originally planning to stay at a state park, but last minute I found this spot on Hipcamp and decided to give it a try and I’m so glad we did.
The site itself is beautiful, private, and peaceful, with so many thoughtful little touches throughout. The private disc golf course was incredible, definitely a highlight and the outhouse was surprisingly beautiful (yes, really!) and clean.
The hosts were amazing too. We never saw them and the house was a good ways away from the campsite felt very private. Everything was so well set up and taken care of, you could feel the care they put into it. Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
We left feeling rested, connected, and so grateful we chose this hidden gem. If you’re thinking about booking it, do it. You won’t regret it.

Showed up for a camping trip to celebrate my birthday. Was greeted by a sign and a balloon saying "happy birthday" that was just one of the many tiny details that made our trip phenomenal. The bathroom was super clean, and Beth was super fast to respond to my messages. I will absolutely be coming back!

The set up was so much better than expected. Truly a magical property and experience. So private that we felt like we were in the middle of the woods. The bathroom was so clean and much cozier than others I’ve used on similar campsites. The host left a ton of supplies and goodies in case we needed anything. Close to stores and gas stations while also feeling secluded.

This site was perfect for our needs and made for a fun weekend away from home!
Our favorite parts:
• Toilet and sink available
• Ample space for several large tents
• Shady trees that keep the site feeling cooler on hot days and dryer on rainy ones
• The close proximity to civilization, while still feeling peaceful and private
• Unlimited disc golf on a private course
• A large supply of firewood provided
• Great and thoughtful hosts!

Great weekend at Mike’s place. We appreciated the privacy and beauty of the lot as well as the fire pit and dry firewood. We had a fire every evening. Shopping is close by as is Saugatuck Dunes State Park for hiking. There is a nice bike trail we unfortunately did not get too. Checkout out Pennyroyal Cafe for good food. We definitely recommend his place.
