Maple Grove Farm

7 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents20 acres · Fallston, MD
Maple Grove farm is a twenty acre preserved livestock and hay farm in Harford County Maryland. It is home to sheep, alpaca, an old horse, chickens , dogs, and a cat or two. The world headquarters for Remsberg Inc Photo Studios is in the older farmhouse on the property and we lead photo safaris and workshops in Africa and England through the year. Our crack team of Border Collies are here to assist you with all your outdoor activity needs from frisbee tossing to ball throwing. Gather around the fire under the stars and listen to the sounds of sheep doing whatever it is sheep do with one of our loaner dogs at your feet and horses grazing in the sunset on the hill. When the weather is nice we occasional show movies by the barn drive in style and try to have one or two outdoor concerts each season. We are only three miles from W42 (Fallston Airport) if you are flying in. Nearby there are hiking trails and a swimming hole at Gunpowder Falls State Park one mile away. Boordy Vinyards down the road has a farmers market Thursdays and wine tastings other days or get homemade ice cream at Prigel Creamery just past it. Take your canoe up to Eden Mill or Bike on the Ma & Pa and NCR trails nearby.

Walking paths leading to the scenic Conowingo Creek make this private setting located in southern Lancaster County a perfect relaxing get away. A short walk will put you on the banks of ideal fishing or a refreshing dip in the beautiful waterway. Some experts claim that plopping a chair in the middle of the creek with a good book is the only way to go! Then, after an evening by the campfire and a cozy night of sleep, a short drive gives you access to the Susquehanna River where hiking and scenic overlooks abound. The area is surrounded by Amish farms and loads of country charm. Got an itch for a historic city experience? Lancaster city is a 30 minute drive north where the historic Lancaster Central Market is open Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and surrounded by lots of quaint shopping. Recently added to Camp Conowingo Extras is the "Henry Hilton" which sleeps two and is an add-on for larger groups or anyone who wants to take in the view, sleeping closer to the stars. See photos in the listing and talk to Gini for details. We look forward to having you visit us.

About Tyme Farm

2 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents26 acres · Westminster, MD
About Tyme Farm is a 26 plus acre privately owned farm used for crops such as corn, soy beans and sunflowers. The property includes a 150+ year old stone farm house, large historic barn on the barn quilt tour in Carroll County, renovated camping cabin for those not into rough camping, fields, streams , woods for hiking, plenty of wild life and lots of quiet. The farm is surrounded by other farms in the agricultural preservation program yet you are only 5 miles from stores, movies, antiques and other aspects of civilization or entertainment if needed. Enjoy watching the deer come out of the woods and meander along the stream and fields at dusk and return in the morning. Electric, water, fire pit and a Port a Pot is available even for rough campers. Pets welcome but must be on a leash or exercise pen or with their owners in some way while here for their safety. There is a large fenced yard for dogs that just have to run if needed. Glamorous camping with a furnished heated/cooled cabin is available for rent by the night for those who do not have camping equipment or do not want to rough it. For those that have been camping before and have all the equipment there is plenty of room for a tent or camper near the buildings or by the stream or woods. For RV owners there is 50amp electric service in the barn. You will need an RV extension cord to access it. I have a 100 ft RV ext. cord but it can be farther than that depending on where you park. Bring one of your own to be sure. It is a farm and not set up like an RV park with numerous outlets.
