We have a beautiful forested mountain that sits at the southern edge of the GreenRidge State Forest. We sit on top of the Paw Paw tunnel and have access to the C and O Canal Trail. We view this place has nature's forest that we are stewards of. We are reclaiming this land that was clear cut over a hundred years ago for an apple orchard and then used as a sawmill and car dump. We have a beautiful deciduous and pine forest with an incredible scenic mountain top that can view the Potomac River at one end. Each day we are working the land to create a beautiful back to nature spot for campers, hikers, bikers, river and travel enthusiasts. Currently we are suited for being a “bring all your stuff with you” camping as we are completely off grid.

We absolutely love this campsite! This was our third time staying here, and it gets better every year. The site itself is very private, spacious, and well-maintained — perfect for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors without feeling crowded. Derek, the owner, is always incredibly accommodating and goes above and beyond to make sure guests have everything they need. We plan to keep coming back every year — it’s become one of our favorite getaway spots!

We were in town for a Geocaching event being held in Fredrick, MD. I booked this site because you just can't find campsites at this price anymore! We stayed at the Hilltop campsite- which will test your very existence if you have to walk up to it. It's a steep hike up!! After an already exhausting day, we were BEAT after lugging up our stuff in 3 trips. I feel a little misled on this HipCamp listing. It notes there's a bathroom nearby... wrong. It's a good maybe 5 minute walk from the Hilltop site... but its located in/next to one of their other sites! And when we we're staying, someone was in that site! Im not going to walk up on them, in their site, to use the porta potty! Talk about invasion of privacy- because if it were me, I wouldn't appreciate others walking up into our campsite. This isn't a deal breaker for us because we usually camp completely off grid. But if its something you need, do NOT stay at the Hilltop site. There was a rain barrel at our site, but it was empty. A trash can, wooden swing, picnic table, 2 chairs and a large firepit were all provided. The property is practically on top of Paw Paw tunnel! The host was very nice- and meeting their huskies really made my day! We arrived late(r) on our check-in day- the host had already started a fire for us!! So once we were at the top, all we had to do was throw a couple of logs on and it kicked right up!! Now, that's something you dont get anywhere else! Host was NOT responsive to messages AT ALL. Overall, 8/10

Lots to like about the waterfront site, starting with the view. My family and another family spent the trip kayaking, lying in a hammock, and sitting by the fire. We only saw a few other people the whole time — all on small fishing boats and jet skis. The host was very communicative. The place wasn’t far from DC. Main drawback is the relatively high cost, particularly given that water and port-a-john weren’t included in the base price.

I found it to be very pleasant, quiet, and a great view. The sunsets were beautiful. If you like seclusion this is a good place to go. The directions were very clear and spot on. Make sure you bring something for the bugs and mosquitos.

I thought the sight was great! The 3/4 mile drive off the main road could use trimming. Put branch marks on my truck. Some may not want that. Was not sure where high tide mark for the river was at the site. Had a complimentary stack of wood waiting. That was nice. A trash can. Nice. The view of the water was awesome. The video of the road in was very helpful. I would recommend highly and return as soon as possible! Thank you!
