Established in 2019. A sister cabin shares the one acre site and is separated by a 16 foot long 9 foot high fence. Well Behaved dogs/pets are allowed on the site for $7 per pet per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add pet fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process. All pets on site must be leashed at all times, no exceptions. Message us if you have any questions regarding bringing your dog on vacation. Should you choose to book this site and use a vehicle that doesn't have a shower and toilet on board, you will not have access to a bathroom on site.You must provide your own porta potty. The RV's pictured belong to past guests and are not available for rent. Ellie's is located to allow easy access to both the Mount Desert Island section of Acadia and the Schoodic Peninsula section. All rigs including off grid and pop-ups, please set up on GRAVEL PAD only. Stay off grass area to prevent damage to the private septic system. **Tenting is not an option on this site, sorry.** Campfires are allowed on this site when winds are under 10 mph. In 2023 over 3.5 million people visited the Acadia area. 2023 has been jammed with visitors, more than ever before, be patient. 2024 update: You can purchase your park pass online and print it before you arrive. Reservations for Cadillac Mtn are now required due to overcrowding. We have one security camera located on the main fence. This is for your protection as well as ours. We are close to basic necessities, and a step away from the masses. We do educational tours daily and if interested these tours are arranged by reservation too by phone or in person only. We may allow camping in Winter months but if it is between November and May it is very important to call and find out the accessibility as weather impacts everything. The shower will likely be unavailable in freezing months and some sites are closed. CALL and speak with a staff member before reserving. Self contained Adventure Vans and tent campers with Winter Gear and Rooftop Tents can be accommodated. We are located close to Ralphie's General store and cafe. He has gas, diesel and and bait to fish from many of our local ponds. He also has everything you need to outfit your camping adventures. Long Pond and Dow Pines recreation area is a 10 minute drive from camp to swim, fish and get ice cream. The Union River is nearby also for swimming and fishing when in season. The Airline Brewing Company, next to Ralphie's, is open from Thursday to Sunday with an amazing selection of fresh crafted micro-brews and offers amazing food from Matt the chef and his great team. Foraging is nearby on Amherst Public Lands when in season, with many delicious edible mushrooms abound! We also have great rock climbing just up the road in Clifton (Cliff Town). We are a great base camp for climbing and a dip in Park's Pond to cool off afterwards :) Acadia National park is a 1.25 hour drive and a straight shot from our camp. I have 4 generations of roots in Aurora and would love to tell you the history of the area and our blueberry farm. We have 6 beautiful new campsites. Good Cellular signal. Good access road for your RV. The amazing views include Owl's Head lighthouse and Matinicus island in the very far distance, sunrise over Ragged Mountain and the Camden hills. To the north the Dixmont, and Bangor areas are visible. Watch the sunset to the west over Sennebec pond and Appleton ridge. To the southwest Mt. Washington may be just visible on a clear day. 75 acres of open fields and woodlands to explore at your leisure. Among the hidden gems you might find are a vernal brook, a distant field that is totally secluded and an oak tree with a heart! Deer, wild Turkeys, Hawks, Owls and Bald Eagles are frequent visitors. The small town of Union also hosts the Maine Wild Blueberry Festival and the Maine Antiques Festival. The Lobster Festival is nearby in Rockland every August. Only one rental allowed at a time - so you get breathtaking beauty all for yourself - and those with you! Note: Part of the land is a working Wild Blueberry farm and as such, on rare occasions, the quiet is interrupted to care for the crop. When this area was originally settled, the farm was located on the "highway" from Camden to seasonal pastures in Lincolnville. The trails leading to the park still go by the old foundations that dotted the old Government Road from Camden. The farm has 46 acres of flowing pasture, hardwood forest and flower and vegetable gardens. At the heart of the property is a large farm pond that has been used to water livestock for generations. We hope you can visit us soon! Our farm abuts Camden Hills State Park, offering dozens of miles of trails for hiking and biking. Farm activities include looking after our flock of Katahdin sheep, laying hens, bee hives and vegetable and flower gardens. What sort or camping unit.? Tent/RoofTent/RV/Hammock/Trailer./Van./ Box Truck or creative bus conversion/Cowboy Camper…? Your reservation request will not be accepted until we have those responses so including that with your reservation request is what we need to know. Several of us live/work/answer messages here. Calling, directly by telephone in advance of reserving is STRONGLY advised and it is mandatory to arrange your arrival time with the staff to be allowed entry. Clarity with your request is necessary. At check out look at the “extras” section to include any pre purchases or rentals. For those flying in or wanting to travel light, you can select “The Works” which includes a tent, bedding , firewood , towels ,chairs, a cooler and numerous camping supplies including coffee and cups. Great for spontaneous adventures and we will have the tent site ready for you to just show up. Easy! Our camping section is located on the property of Kisma Preserve. Home to abundant local wildlife and our own resident animals , Including domestic and non domestic and our favorite, Wolves. . Most of the staff live here full time all year. The sounds of the night are magical. Unleash your imagination and camp here away from the crowds that exist within the local Acadia National Park area which begins about 5 minutes away at Thompson’s Island and the bridge to Mt Desert Island. We are close to basic necessities, and a step away from the masses. We do educational tours daily and if interested these tours are arranged by reservation too by phone or in person only. We may allow camping in Winter months but if it is between November and May it is very important to call and find out the accessibility as weather impacts everything. The shower will likely be unavailable in freezing months and some sites are closed. CALL and speak with a staff member before reserving. Self contained Adventure Vans and tent campers with Winter Gear and Rooftop Tents can be accommodated. Or If you want to have a solid roof , screens and a fabulous view ask about reserving our Cadillac Mountain View Loft or if the idea of being naked under the stars is appealing opt for our Raw and Rough site.! Pulling in late, and leaving early for a typical Sunrise reservation.? We can also accommodate that if we know that is all you want. Traveling with your horse.? Talk to us about an Equine site. The Biker’s Bunkhouse is ideal for motorcycle travelers as it shelters both the guest and the Bike/s. Always call, we can answer all questions to get you into the right site for your style of adventuring. With each listing be sure to READ all the information and the rules. If you are interested in a spontaneous camping adventure, if your luggage got lost or if you just don’t want to deal with transporting camping gear we have a variety of rental equipment. Last minute reservation requests may not work via the reservation site but we may very likely have a space.
