Spacious Skies Balsam Woods is a hidden paradise of a campground located right in the heart of Maine, just a half hour south of Moosehead Lake, the largest lake in Maine, and 60 miles as the crow flies from the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, Mt. Katahdin, in Baxter State Park. We offer both wooded and open sites that can accommodate most rigs. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, water, 30 or 50-amp electrical service, and most offer sewer. Groups and tent campers are welcome. Balsam Woods campground is less than a minute’s drive from Piper Pond, a 2-mile-long lake with public boat launch and beach access. Onsite, we have a camp store and snack bar stocked with necessities, treats, and goodies for the whole family. There is no shortage of fun activities with our heated pool, classic rec hall, playground, a new jumping pillow, and gem mining! We have three cozy rustic cabins as well as three deluxe cabins for those wanting to experience the beauty of the great outdoors but who may not be ready for the tenter or RV life!

This property is an excellent location near Acadia National Park, Blue Hill, Bangor, and Belfast Maine. It is on RTE 1. The lot is a large, grass, pull-through location. Please read the description carefully. The location is on the corner of RTE 1 and Powers Drive Lane. To enter, turn onto Powers Drive and take a sharp left into the first driveway and onto the grass back toward rte 1. Park parallel with Powers Drive Lane near the big oaks. Pajaritaflora Artist Studio/Gallery is located here. I am an artist. Welcome to my studio property. There is a long spacious spot for most sizes RV. It has level grass for you to park on. There is a group fire pit area on the grounds for everyone. Many people do not need electricity these days. So I have lowered the price of the spot. It is without electricity. You can add it on if you wish at $20 per night. You will need a long extension, and it is 20 amps. I have water for your holding tank. Sorry, no sewer. This is an excellent spot for a short stay. It is good if you need to be here a couple of days prior to your campground stay! I have been enjoying hosting campers here for the past two seasons. I can't wait to meet you! This is my third season here.

Fieldstone Farm is a 35-acre property in Warren, Maine. Our waterfront campsite is located on a wooded parcel nestled between a rolling farm field and a seasonal cottage. Amenities included in the nightly rental are a 16-foot diameter round Regatta Bell canvas tent set up on a raised wooden platform, with a queen-sized pull-out futon, two additional single-sized futon chairs, and an indoor dining table and stools. Outside, overlooking beautiful Crawford Pond (aka Crawford Lake) is an outdoor kitchen and lounging area with patio table and chairs, umbrella, as well as kitchenware (cookware, plates, bowls, cups, utensils, coffee press, etc.), a gas grill, and firepit. Also onsite is a shed for storing food bins and trash, a solar composting toilet, and a solar sun shower stall. The campsite is just steps away from shared water access with a small beach and space to launch paddleboards, canoes, kayaks, or other similar kinds of watercraft. Friendly dogs are welcome at the campsite and on the beach; however, dogs should not be left unattended at the campsite or on the beach. The lake covers nearly 600 acres, with an 11-mile perimeter, and is 3.5 miles in length. In the middle sits 100-Acre Island, a beautiful piece of land stewarded by the Georges River Land Trust and a great place to get out and stretch your legs if you are on a long paddle or to have a picnic. In general, this is a delightful setting for swimming, floating, fishing, and paddling among the loons and other wildlife that this water body is home to. The campsite is a short drive to a number of terrific hiking trails that are part of the Georges Highland Path, a 70-mile network of trails, and the St. George River Canoe Trail. It’s also just 20 minutes to Camden Hills State Park and downtown Camden, and 18 minutes to Rockport or Rockland. There are many excellent restaurants and art galleries in these coastal towns, as well as opportunities to get out on the ocean and enjoy our coastal beaches or catch a ferry for a day trip out to explore one of the iconic islands offshore. Such a wonderful campground! We loved the cabin and it had everything we needed. Bathrooms were clean and the store and rec room were there with food supplies, games. Activities and such. The kids loved the jumping pillow and playground. We will definitely be back.

I love this site. It has everything you need and it’s right on the lake. The sunsets are gorgeous and there are so many different birds calling out. If you want to relax in the quiet of the woods while spending time on the lake, I highly recommend it.

It was beautiful, quiet and right on the water with amazing sunrises and sunsets accompanied by the sounds of loons. The camp itself was perfectly put together with everything we needed and more! Beautiful, well kept campsite. The water access and peaceful surroundings are something special. We saw bald eagles, loons and lots of fish jumping! It does get chilly at night so definitely remember to pack warm sleeping bags/blankets. Highly recommend this beautiful spot!

1 night at Ferncrest Acadia

Ferncrest Acadia is so special! It’s a brand new place, and they’ve absolutely nailed it. The location is perfect!! Peaceful, surrounded by nature, and still super close to Acadia and all the little towns and hikes nearby. The geodome was insanely cozy and felt so luxurious! Like the perfect mix of comfort and nature. We slept like babies and never wanted to leave! And the stargazing? Out of this world. We laid outside for hours just watching the sky—I've never seen stars like that before. It felt totally magical. You can even pick fresh blueberries right on the property, which was such a fun bonus. Every little detail was so thoughtful, and everything just felt easy. We already can’t wait to come back. If you’re headed to Maine, Ferncrest Acadia needs to be on your list!!

What a beautiful spot! Everything was very comfortable, from the beautiful bell tent to the nice deck. The sunset was stunning. We are hoping to make it back one day, as we were a bit rained out! We stayed dry in the tent though!

This was our first experience with Hipcamp and it was awesome. We had such a great time camping at Fieldstone Farm! It was very private with lots of lakefront area. The tent was super comfortable and the set up on the deck was great. Amanda was very responsive and gave us lots of great information. The site is centrally located with easy access to Thomaston, Rockland and Camden. Highly recommend it!

It was a cute rustic cabin. We had everything needed for camping with our dogs. Unfortunately, the heater wasn’t working and we got super cold at night as we didn’t expect the drastic temperature drop. Overall - nice place with super clean bath house and very pleasant staff! Our fur babies loved it
