Deering Acres Campground

George Deering owned these acres and worked as a farmer in the early to mid 1900's, my parent's acquired the property in 1991 and it has since been passed on to me.

Howling Goat Farm and Grange

Come visit a converted Grange hall that was MOVED to its current location 10 years ago! Nestled on 35 beautiful acres, it gives you the chance to choose meadow or forest camping along with meeting some new animal friends!Learn more about this land:Come join us on Howling Goat Farm where you can pitch a tent on our field site for a front row seat of the night sky and a spectacular view of the Milky Way. OR we have a secluded site in our wooded area that you are more than welcome to stay in for a more private experience! We are a non-conventional camping area where we don't want anyone to think that they are sardines stuffed into a tiny lot. We keep our bookings to a minimum so more often than not you'll have a whole field to yourselves with more privacy than any other campground. We hope you'll join us for a few days of farm life and the simplicity that we can provide.  We are within 4 miles of 95 and  centrally located between Rangeley, Baxter, Moosehead and Acadia National Park.

About this land:

We have a beautiful, thickly forested 16 acres 30 minutes from coastal Belfast near the Common Ground fairgrounds and Unity Pond / Lake Winnecook in Unity. We live in Wabanaki Alliance territory, on unceded Passamaquoddy land. A right-of-way going through the property offers great viewing, walking, biking, ATVing, horseback riding, birding, xc skiing, or snowmobiling. Bushwack to a swimming hole to escape the bugs and heat. Or, give us tips on our disc golf half-course (lots of putting). You will select from a variety of primitive campsites (all more than 150 feet from parking!) offering private commune with nature, and the nearby town of Unity can satisfy your need for near music, drinks, or socializing. We recommend you bring your own water, as our well is of questionable quality and far to haul. Please do not bring outside wood. We have rentable bikes and kayaks so long as you have a way to carry them (no racks).

Sebasticook millennium Green

Part of an early 19th century farming community which faded into history well over a hundred years ago. Since then, it has been used exclusively for hunting, trapping and timber harvest.  Other then a few scattered seasonal hunting camps, this is a privately owned uninhabited / undeveloped tract of land on the Eastern banks of the Seabasticook River watershed.

Primitive Tent Camping within a mixed wood forest. Located ten miles East of Waterville, Maine or Six miles West of Unity, Maine.  The Sebasticook Millennium Green is a terraced 207 acre forest with over 18 miles of trails. Vehicle access is via a seasonal town road with parking a short walk from campsites.  There are four unimproved sites with picnic tables and fire rings that will only accommodate one tent.  These sites are accessible with a regular vehicle and located a short distance from the marginally maintained (dirt) town road.  We try to provide firewood for the sites when possible and campers are welcome to gather downed wood to use.  There is a fifth site (ridge) that is a mile hike through the woods or accessible via 4wd vehicle, this site has room for four tents, has a large firepit, three picnic tables and an outhouse.

Lake Hebron is a deep water lake managed for cold water game fish.
Easy access and good fishing make Lake Hebron a popular spot for local anglers.
The Appalachian Trail follows the northwest corner of the lake, and Monson Village is nestled around its eastern end.
Monson was once famous for its slate industry Examples of native slate may be seen along Maine Routes 6 and 15 and at quarries located in the town.  A wonderful, serene place to visit.
This 525-acre lake receives huge annual stockings of brook trout.
In 1994,4,300 trout were stocked here; in 1995, another 4,300 brook trout were stocked, along with 250 landlocked salmon.Learn more about this land:This campsite  is located on the beautiful shores of lake Hebron in Monson, Maine.  It’s just minutes away from the Monson General Store, the Monson Arts Center, Borestone Mountain and so much more!  Twenty minutes from Moosehead Lake, a few minutes from the Appalachian trail that starts the hundred mile wilderness, and home of the world renowned Monson Slate. Bring your kayaks or canoe to explore the 638 acres of pristine lake while you stay at our quiet, wooded, six acre property.  We can also assist with Kayak rental as well.  
A wonderful place if you love listening to birds in the morning and loons in the evening. Beautiful sunrise views and vibrant sunsets.
Great four wheeling nearby. We can assist with trail access and parking.  10 minutes to Abbot and 10 minutes to Shirley Mills. 

This location has the feel of a quiet, remote camping site with some wonderful conveniences, including power and WIFI.

 We are private landowners wanting to share our beautiful lakefront property with others who enjoy the same.
