6 sites · RVs, Tents46 acres · Newburgh, MEWelcome to Forest Hills! This is a residential 46 acre property in a rural, safe community. We are right off Western Avenue (HWY 202) for easy access. It is very peaceful and calm here.
Please read the full description before booking. Please be aware, these are rustic, self-sustainable camp spots in the field. This is not a campground or upscale facility.
ABOUT THE LAND:
Our field is 4 acres of rolling hills surrounded by 40 acres of undeveloped, thick forest with Thurlow Brook winding throughout the forest. The brook flows at different speeds and heights depending on the time of year. Our farmhouse sits on 2 acres with a barn, pear/apple trees, a large raspberry bush and large pond. You are welcome to explore the undeveloped 40 forested acres, brook and small waterfall, but use caution and common sense as there are many tripping hazards, a flowing brook and slippery rocks.
We are conveniently located between several cool spots to explore:
14 minutes to Winterport - winery, historic downtown, River waterfront
17 minutes from Bangor - concerts, shopping, restaurants, venues
20 minutes to Tattooed Dad Brewery in Jackson w/ live music.
27 minutes to Unity - Common Grounds Festival, Amish Store and Butcher Shop,
32 minutes to Bucksport - named USA Today’s #1 Seaside Small Town in 2021, Fort Knox, festivals, Penobscot Narrows Bridge, waterfront views
35 minutes to Belfast - small coastal town w/ shops, great food, ocean views, festivals, year-round farmers market
ABOUT THE CAMPSITES:
We have 6 designated campsites on the 4 acre field. Car camping, van life, RVs and tents are welcome! We have three sites along the tree lined Highway 202, and three sites on different elevations of the field. A tent can be set up anywhere in the undeveloped forest and does not need to be in the designated campsite area. However, no campfires are allowed in the forest. If you choose to pitch a tent in the forest, we recommend staying between the field and brook to avoid getting lost. Please be ready to be self-sufficient and sustainable in any weather. No water/electric hook ups. Campfires are allowed in your portable campfire pit. Firewood is available for purchase on-site and is on the honor system. We are pet friendly. You are welcome to explore the forest and brook, but use caution and common sense, as this is thick, undeveloped forestland with many tripping hazards, flowing water and slippery rocks. Any hours coming and going are fine! Feel free to reach out with any questions. Enjoy a peaceful stay.
