Dubé Homestead

Located in the gorgeous woodlands of mid state Maine, near to the Androscoggin River and three public lakes, our family homestead is a doorstep to an authentic Maine Outdoors experience.  Rich in both history and lore, share our stories and many others around our legacy fire!Learn more about this land:Pitch your tent in our pine wood forest and have access to your own picnic table and fire ring. This camp site is on a ridge which offers an incredible vista! Your campsite is a 3-minute walk to the Main house.  You will have complete privacy.   Looking for an unforgettable Maine experience? Upon request, our Maine Guide, Mike Dubé offers bush craft and survival skills training. Don't miss out on Mike's authentic Native American story telling around our communal campfire!

The frog pond, ALSO nearby Round Pond offers public boat access, swimming and picnic area. It's the place we loved most on those hot summer days!

Mike and his wife Gaianne on the ridge where they were married. Mike is a Registered Maine Guide and authentic Native American storyteller. We offer communal campfire storytelling and wilderness survival training opportunities while you are visiting!

Howling Goat Farm and Grange

Come visit a converted Grange hall that was MOVED to its current location 10 years ago! Nestled on 35 beautiful acres, it gives you the chance to choose meadow or forest camping along with meeting some new animal friends!Learn more about this land:Come join us on Howling Goat Farm where you can pitch a tent on our field site for a front row seat of the night sky and a spectacular view of the Milky Way. OR we have a secluded site in our wooded area that you are more than welcome to stay in for a more private experience! We are a non-conventional camping area where we don't want anyone to think that they are sardines stuffed into a tiny lot. We keep our bookings to a minimum so more often than not you'll have a whole field to yourselves with more privacy than any other campground. We hope you'll join us for a few days of farm life and the simplicity that we can provide.  We are within 4 miles of 95 and  centrally located between Rangeley, Baxter, Moosehead and Acadia National Park.

Primitive Campin'

  we are located on the banks of the Sandy River. The Sandy River is a free-flowing river that begins in the mountains of Western Maine and meanders through  our college town of Farmington where  you can  enjoy specialty shops and get a bite to eat at one of the  many restaurants. We are about a 45 minute drive to Smalls Fall near the beginning of the Sandy River and has a series of five drops  ( waterfalls) through a narrow gorge that challenge extreme kayakers.  It's truly a sight to see .No worries if you're not into extreme kayaking  you can drop a tube in the river near you campsite for a lazy day float down stream. If you like Hiking, biking, or 4 wheeling you can pick up a trail right from your site.
Or a short drive to the  whistle stop trail that is a multi-use rail trail connecting three towns highlighting beautiful countryside.

Camping at Runamuk Acres

The Runamuk Acres Conservation Farm is settled at the foot of western Maine's Bigelow Moutain Range, in the village of North New Portland, with views of Mt Abram to the west, and Black Hill looming to the east. The farm boasts a large vegetable garden, perennial flower beds, herb gardens, chickens and sheep on pasture, a buzzing apiary, and a lush meadow with a secret forest beyond. A love for nature and a desire to preserve the landscape for future generations is the heart of Runamuk. The farm practices agricultural conservation for the health of honeybees, native pollinators and other beneficial insects. Because pollinators are a keystone species, by focusing on their conservation Runamuk is able to provide a benefit to the entire ecosystem. That’s why Runamuk’s mission is to practice “Bee-friendly farming for a more sustainable tomorrow”.Learn more about this land:Camps are tucked into a forested area beyond a secluded wildflower meadow on this conservation farm in western Maine. Easy access to the Bigelow Mountain Range, the Appalachian Trail, and myriad outdoor sporting activities (hiking, fishing, biking, hunting, swimming, sight-seeing, birdwatching, etc.).

Hole in the Wall Camping

We purchased this land a few years ago when our neighbors decided to sell. It abuts our property They used it as a place for their family to gather and camp on during Maine wonderful summer season. It is a beautiful, quiet spot with a great view and a small pond. Hipcamp lets us share this spot and helps pay our property taxes.We are located in the western mountains of Maine in a summer community on Porter Lake. There is a beautiful view of New Vineyard mountain from our 3 acre field. We have 2 trailer sites with power and water (non potable) and an out house. The field has several fire pits and soft grassy spaces for pitching tents. The camping area is fairly private from our neighbors along the road. The site has a small private pond surrounded by trees you can sit and relax near. You can (walk/bike/drive) the 1/4 mile down the dirt road to the public beach. The beach has a public dock, boat ramp, swim float, picnic tables and grills. Paddle out to the island and try the rope swing with one of our kayaks or canoes. Be sure to check out the bald eagles that live in the white pine tree just a little farther down the island. You will hear the loons during your stay and possibly see a mother with her babies on her back. There are also ducks and ducklings and geese with gosling paddling about the lake. The state stocks the lake with trout, splake, and salmon if you like to fish. There is plenty to do right here!

The campsite is surrounded by wildflowers.

I would recommend exploring the lake in a kayak. Tons of fun!
