We have owned this property for almost 20 years.  Our children are mostly grown now.  We love meeting new people and seeing new faces. Gresham family Compound.

Family owned land purchased in the 30's. The modern Gresham compound is a place of peace amongst a seemingly chaotic world. The trees are like gardians of the land. Walk softly on the earth, each step, offer a blessing.Learn more about this land:Sleep in a converted ambulance camper with a Zen vibe. Tents welcome too. The surrounding Property is full of mature trees creating a country in the city feel. Outdoor jaccuzi and kitchen available. Lake martin, a picturesque swamp great for paddling and birdwatching is only 10 minutes away. Acdiana park, a great place to hike is only 5.

Kickin' it in the Butte

Hello Hipcampers!  Welcome to Cajun Country!  Click on sites and scroll down to choose our  full service RV hookup space which can include a buddy site if needed, just ask for pricing. You may also choose rental of our own RV for use on site and we also offer in our home a very comfortable bedroom with a private bath.  Any rental includes a one tent for camping for free.  We have options for you and please contact us anytime for information or questions.

Our location is in a camp style neighborhood with great neighbors, like you.  Here you will get the rest and peace and quiet that you may need or our location can provide all the fun that you can handle.  If you need one night or one week or longer we can work with you.  Whatever it is that you need we are here to help you get what you want.  

We live on the Atchafalaya River Hwy. and our location is only 3.5 miles from I10 at Butte LaRose exit 121.  Butte LaRose is located in the heart of Acadiana and in the heart of the Atchafalaya Basin, which is true cajun country. Hunting and fishing is the way of life, here.  The Atchafalaya Basin is the nations largest river swamp containing almost one million acres of America's most significant bottom land hardwood swamps, bayous and backwater lakes.    

Many hummingbirds visit here every year.  They arrive approximately mid March and leave mid October.  There are also many festivals in a close range or take a swamp tour to see the alligators.  Check out Turtles bar and restaurant on the levy or The Butte bar 1 mile away.  Our Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival and Lafayette's Festival International are famous and near by.  In Acadiana there are so many festivals, too many festivals to mention. Enjoy some good food like boudin, cracklings or crawfish.  Local Attractions include McGee's Louisiana Swamp Tours, Atchafalaya Basin Landing Swamp Tours, Turtles Bar on the Levee, The Butte Bar, Pat's Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant and the Atchafalaya Club (cajun bands and dancing), Crawfish Town USA Restaurant, Louisiana Marketshops at the 115 (arts, crafts and gifts) and more.
