This is the recreational property of the creator of PYRA.  Enjoy your level of comfort at Horse Shoe Bend River Camp.  Pop a tent for 10 bucks plus Hipcamp fees.  Fresh well water and trash are free.  Up to 20% discount on longer camps.

Cajun retreat Campsite

My wife and I are native south Louisianians. I grew up fishing, trawling, catching seafood, hunting and skiing in Westwego. My wife grew up near New Orleans eating poboys and beignets. 

We moved to Prairieville 20 years ago. It’s just over an hour from New Orleans and our Bayou property is very similar to what we were accustomed to in Cajun country, Westwego.

We own 2 acres of partially secluded property on Bayou Manchac. Our place is a genuine Cajun retreat inside and out. We’re operating one short stay and one extended stay campsite and all 3 experience options at this time;. The site is on the Bayou; great for relaxing, bird and turtle watching, kayaking, etc. (There is a public boat launch if needed)  Great place for adult only relaxation or for families. Grassy area with firepit for s’mores, archery equipment, etc.  Scenic neighborhood for bike riding and walking.
We’re  close to Baton Rouge and LSU; also about an hour away from the New Orleans metro area. Authentic Cajun hosts lives in a unique A-frame on the property and can point you to attractions and seafood markets. We are lifelong locals with lots of knowledge of the area! We can interact with you as much or as little as you’d like. We love to cook and often share Cajun meals with our guests!.

Old River RV Park

Our pet-friendly campground offers 20 full hook-up and big-rig-friendly back-in sites right on the Amite River, with 18 50-amp sites and two 30-amp sites. We also offer free Wi-Fi throughout the park, along with boat ramps and covered areas to share dinner while enjoying the sights and sounds of boaters and wildlife exploring the Amite River.

Fish right from your site, take your boat down the river to Lake Maurepas, explore the history of Southern Louisiana, or simply take the day to relax with friends in one of the friendliest RV Parks in the area.
