HomeGrown HideAways is a farm, lodging, and event facility nestled in a hundred-acre holler in the Appalachian foothills near Berea, Ky. Our lodging features treehouses, yurts, a bunkhouse, retro camper, water/electric hook-ups, and campsites. We also host weddings, retreats, and other events so advance reservations are required.
For insurance purposes and the safety of our own livestock and pets, we do not allow guests to bring their pets/ESAs onto the property. Prepare to UNPLUG as we do not have cell service or wifi (there IS a landline for guests to make phone calls located in the Community Farmhouse).
All guests from tent to treehouse have access to our solar-powered Community Farmhouse featuring a fully-stocked chef-inspired kitchen, restrooms, coin-op laundry, and upstairs multi-purpose room with a library and board games. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with additional cooking space including a grill, microwave, and sink (sink is closed in the winter so the pipes don’t freeze). Next to the Farmhouse is a massive pavilion with picnic tables for al fresco dining and firewood bundles to purchase. BRING CASH!
Our seasonal bath house is generally open from April or May to October or November based on the prevailing temps. There are 4 flush toilets, 2 sinks, and 2 hot showers. The floors are concrete so we recommend shower shoes and you'll want to bring your own towels and shampoo/soap.
The farm has a small playground, yard games, creeks, and a steep and rugged hiking trail that loops the mountain. We're also just 8 miles from the hiking trails at the Berea College Pinnacles, 8 miles to Owsley Fork Reservoir, 20 minutes to Anglin Falls, 12 miles to Berea, 35 minutes to Richmond, Ky, and a scenic hour to Red River Gorge.

Wow where to start. The farm is beautiful. So much land to hike and enjoy nature. The hosts were so kind and helpful with everything. The bunkhouse was great - with good sleeping bags and some blankets it works great in winter. The farmhouse/kitchen was incredible. So cozy and everything you could need to cook great meals and feel at home. Honestly could not recommend this place more. Affordable, beautifully designed, warm, and so many thoughtful details like yummy coffee and tea. They have so many options to stay- great place for everybody!

One of my favorite camping trips I've ever taken with Hipcamp! The host was the most accommodating and gracious host I've ever had, full stop. The property is gorgeous and the sites are spread out enough that it feels secluded and private. The facilities that were available were clean and stocked. Everything was 5 star worthy!

We arrived late in the evening and out of season so there weren't many people about. Fortunately the host met us as we drove in and gave good directions about where to set up camp. It would have been helpful to have the leach line marked off so we could better avoid that area. Great soft grassy area (recently mowed) to camp on. Very close to the Pinnacles where we planned on hiking the next day.

Weekend Trip to The Honey Hut
This was a very cute and cozy cabin on a private lot. Its has a great dock to sit, drink coffee, and read a book. The fire pit has a grate which was very convenient. The porch was idyllic and probably my favorite spot on the property. There were lots of birds and butterflies to watch. We had a great time.

I picked west lake 1 spot and pulled a 20’ camper right in for a lake side camp. The sunrise view over the horse barn was phenomenal and being on the west side of the lake we were shaded while setting by the water in the evening. It was very hot when we were there so this would be very important to me if I were camping here. It is a beautiful very peaceful place to camp and everyone there from the owner to the workers were very respectful and helpful. Within 20 minutes of some great food and shopping in Georgetown and don’t miss out on the burgers at Cariss’s old country grocery. It’s a bit of a drive but much worth it. All in all I rank this camp sight an 8 with the only drawback being no electric and no generator use. Other than that it was perfect.

Absolutely in love with the property. It's an inviting outdoor environment with accommodations that allows you to be comfortable.
They have anticipated the needs that pop up on a trip. There is a stash of available items to purchase (extremely reasonable prices) to meet needs, a community room, a play area for kids to enjoy, trails, CLEAN (spotless!) bathrooms. There's not a thing I can think of that they've not covered.
I am grateful the owners have opened up their space to share with others. They have a part of paradise carved out in the hills.

6 nights at The Honey Hut
This cabin and property is absolutely beautiful 😍. So peaceful and serene and QUIET! Hosts thought of absolutely everything. Early morning canoeing and being right up in the face of nature was so incredible. That upper back porch was everything! Spent so much time there just listening to nature sounds and watching the hummingbirds. Hosts were very kind and attentive when needed. Can't wait to come back!

Great little spot in rural KY. Quiet, peaceful, and well-kept. Host Lola is kind and communicates clearly. Only a few spaces, so it stays calm and low-traffic. Would absolutely stay again.

Group trip
Being near the water is lovely, especially at twilight. You can see lots of critters, especially birds: herons, hummingbirds, buntings, etc. The amenities were really nice. A pretty luxurious getaway!

Absolutely beautiful piece of property and an amazing place to camp. Gorgeous view of the night sky! Wonderful bathrooms and an amazing community center. Do remember cash for some super great items like postcards and homegrown spices! We regretted not having cash on us!

3 nights at HomeGrown HideAways
This place was amazing! The Nook was great. I had to two teenagers so it was nice to have space in the cabin. The kitchen was a dream! Everything you could need or want. The land line was perfect so my nephew could call home. There are little extras you can purchase as needed. The kids enjoyed trying the Ale8 drink. Honestly not a single complaint. If you are thinking about staying here just go ahead and book it!
