We have 15 acres of woods with a natural rock bluff, so many different spaces which allow you to fully bond with nature. Trails to wander and wildlife to see. Clothing is optional through out all of the property; overnight camping and sunbathing/day pass spots are available.
Located on the Wapsipinicon River. Camp sites are very private and tucked away from life's stresses. Relax in the woods. Watch the cows and calves moo in the nearby pasture. Walk nature trails with native wildlife and flora. Great photo opportunities abound. Cast a line to catch dinner. Escape to nature is the key to this property; find yourself tucked away from city sounds and light pollution. Come out to see the sunset/sunrise, check out the stars, read a good book, lay out in your favorite hammock, find yourself, and be at peace. Great place for a nice camping fire; treat yourself to some smores. Peaceful sounds at night of the river flowing as you drift off to sleep in your tent. Perfect little spot for peaceful relaxation and just taking some time. Walk the trails in your natural skin, shoot photos of all the different plants, listen to the birds and animals scurry, enjoy the sunshine, and feel the warmth on all of your body. Put in your canoe or kayak at Olin for a 3-4 hour float to our camping area. There are lots of state parks within a short drive; visit the only Presidential library in Iowa; and tour some amazing caves in nearby parks. Enjoy the Great Jones County Fair only 30 mins away.. So much to do, and then come back to a space without crowds and just chill.

It’s perfect. Clear view for the sunset & sunrise. The teepee was unexpectedly comfortable, being able light up the fire pit in the inside was a 10. It was 45 degrees last night and we slept like new born babies. Trails cut out to enjoy the colors and the life that the their prairie brings to the land. Great hospitality, I even got the chance to enjoy the taste of delicious fruit and drinks produced from the land.. if this place don’t Bless your camping needs, you’re not a camper. If I keep giving details it might seem too good to be true, I advise you to check it out. Overall it was a pleaser to meet them and enjoy this wonderful idea for us to enjoy nature and the peace that comes with it.. We will be back for sure.

There were some nice updates to the cabin since my last visit. Steps were added going down to the cabin rather than just a path. Other additions included a new magnetic screen door, a cabinet hung on the wall to hold your gear/food stuffs etc., some reading materials and a guest book, a love seat and table inside and a hand sink on the deck. There was a solar light added to the W.C. but im not sure it gets enough sunlight to charge because it didn't go on. There is also a new cloth fence heading down to the river sites blocking the neighbors view and an outdoor shower is now available for $5/5gal. All very nice additions to an already beautiful, quiet piece of property! And don't forget to book a massage! It is next level! I will definately be back...I think this is my new "Happy Place"!!

I've stayed at walking stick adventures multiple times. It's a private single camp site in a quite rural area. The hosts and campsite provide everything needed for a comfortable stay. Just bring your own bedding and food. Maria and ken are always pleasant and quickly reapond to anything that comes up. The pond and trails are enough to wear out the kids and dogs. This is my family's favorite place to camp.

Susan greeted us outside the camper when we arrived & we instantly felt at home. She has such a lovely presence & Lucky Star Farm is truly magical! Their vintage camper, “Betty” is adorable, meticulously clean, & thoughtfully stocked. We were quickly greeted by several resident barn cats & could see llamas, goats, & sheep from our little patio. We had such a beautifully relaxing stay—truly one of the best camping experiences we’ve had as a family. Our hosts have literally thought of everything to make it comfortable, peaceful, and easy to enjoy. It’s clear they care deeply about creating a welcoming space, and it shows in all the thoughtful details.
The site is super kid-friendly! Our daughter loved playing in the sand, swinging in the hammock, and just exploring the outdoors. We were able to slow down, be present, and really enjoy each other’s company.
The weather was perfect during our visit, and our dog had the time of her life swimming in the pond and canoeing right along with us. It was such a joy to watch her have fun too.
One of the sweetest touches was the hosts sharing some of their homemade wine—it was absolutely delicious and such a generous, personal gesture that made the experience feel even more special.
We left feeling refreshed, reconnected, and full of gratitude. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unplug and make meaningful memories in a truly thoughtful and peaceful setting

The Eagles Nest was a A+! 16 foot room had plenty of room for my freestanding hammock stand. Great view off the balcony, over looking the cattle pond, over the fence line. The sound of Bull frogs was nice to hear over night.
Scott is a Great Host! Spent one night at the cabin, then moved to a campsite along the Wapsi River.
Maybe he will build a Eaglse Nest 2 above the other Bluff. ;-). You have to bring your own sleep system. A step up from a tent, with screen windows

I stayed at the Eagle’s Nest. I loved the little cabin especially since no tent was needed. The front deck was perfect for cooking and the view was spectacular. Scott was extremely attentive to my every need. He met me and helped load my gear in his trailer which was pulled by his 4-wheeler. As much as I loved the Eagle’s nest, the riverfront campsites looked very inviting. Scott has engineered a rain water shower, so I used my solar camp shower to heat the water. Perfect! Give this place a try!

Scott & Kimberly were wonderful hosts. Upon arrival Scott offered to help cart my gear to the site with their 4x4 & wagon. The "cabin" was simple but perfect in every way. A nice balcony with a table & chairs and your own personal WC. The grounds are very large and easily walked with benches along the way to stop and take in the scenery of the rock cliffs, the Mother Tree, the pond and pasture, and several river vantage points. I spent hours lying in a hammock by the river with the sun and breeze blowing over me - it was glorious. I wish the weather had been nicer but it afforded me time to explore the local area with many state parks and sites of interest within an hours drive. A highlight of the trip was my massage. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience! I will certainly make it a goal to come visit again soon! Thank you for sharing your lovely property!

My daughter and I stayed in the Oh Betty camper and it was such a great time! Although it looks small from the outside it is actually quite spacious inside, with all of the amenities you need including a flush toilet and a space heater for those chilly evenings. Susan was such a wonderful host, you can tell she is really passionate about what she does and it shines through in her attention to detail. She took the time to let us play with the goats and also explained a bit about all of the animals, which my daughter loved. Goat yoga was so much fun and the teacher created a welcoming environment for all ages, bodies, and abilities. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique weekend getaway, Lucky Star Farm is so peaceful and a great way to reset!

Weekend Trip to Folk School Farm Stay
I had an amazing stay in the Indigo Pod on Anna’s property! It was a perfect place for a reset after the busy holiday season. It was quiet, comfortable and relaxing with no distractions. I was able to journal and catch up on some reading during my stay. The supply of hot tea and kettle were a lovely touch. I enjoyed a cup as I watched the fog roll over the Iowa farm fields in the mornings. There is also a community kitchen where I could prepare nutritious meals instead of getting take out. Being able to roam the property and be in nature also helped with my holiday reset! I highly recommend Anna’s place to anyone wanting time away to refocus and relax. It has everything you need without the distraction!
