The space One-of-a-kind property in Indianapolis on your own private lake at the front of our 60-acre property. You are free to roam the front 10 acres (including the full lake). From the backyard, you can see our horses in the pasture next door. Watch the sunset as the property comes to life at night with all of the sounds of nature. It’s not uncommon to see deer in the field, turtles sunbathing on the lake, our resident blue Herron, “Harold”, wild turkey, or the families of ducklings who live here in the spring! The lake is a natural water source fed by a creek. Although we do our best to treat it, there are times when the natural vegetation is beyond our control. The house is located next to a big open field, and while we take necessary precautions to keep out any bugs and field mice, the occasional visitor may make its way in. Close to the interstate and downtown yet it feels like you are deep in the country in a nature preserve. There are not many properties like this! Listen to crickets chirp, watch fireflies dance, and horses play, and roast marshmallows over a fire at this enchanting cottage. Relax next to your own private waterfall feature overlooking the lake in the backyard. We are on a main road and The home is at the front of the property so easily accessible and easy to find. You will hear cars passing when up at the front of the property. The home does have well water but we have a softener as well as a fresh water dispenser for drinking water. Check directions. Sometimes the GPS throws you off. It likes to take people to a nearby bridge. I’ve provided directions if this happens.

After that, you can explore the big red barn that was selected as one of the top-ten Bicentennial barns in the state. Roam around the 120 acre homestead, woods and creek and soak in the sights, sounds and smells of the farm. Be sure to visit our farm store before you leave where you can shop for alpaca products such as sweaters, hats, mittens and scarves. Pick up some honey made from bees on our farm or some farm fresh eggs from our flock of pastured chickens! Heritage Farm has several options for overnight lodging. One of the most popular places to stay is in our authentic 1850's log cabin. And it's certainly special to us as well. The cabin represents a valued part of our heritage.
