Allen’s beautiful land was nestled between fields on all sides. He was very welcoming and let me know what to expect during my stay, i.e. paths, fire ring, parking, etc. It was very tranquil and quiet with little traffic on this country road in Ohio’s quintessential farmland.

Weekend Trip to Serenity Now

I did a solo hot tent camping for my weekend getaway/ momcation. Brian was a very caring and welcoming host. He made sure of the condition on grounds prior to my arrival and I took Meadow 2 instead per his recommendation. He even lend me a big axe when I was about to leave to buy one. It’s difficult find a campsite with this much privacy, woods and water stream near by at this price point. I like how the property is well-kept and organic at the same time. I grew up and spent more than half of my life by mountain range and rivers. Staying here truly felt home and I got the rest and serenity I needed for a long time.

Straightforward and gracious. It was peaceful and I was able to be productive in my work.

Brian is a kind host and I was blessed by the friendship of his sweet little dog. The land is beautiful and the sky is dark and great for stargazing. I'd love to stay again and have more time to explore the trails and around the creek.

Owner is super responsive and friendly! The entrance is a bit steep, but doable. The sites are level and the hookups are very well designed. Great views as well!

The host was kind enough to accept a booking late in the day and greeted me upon my (after dark) arrival and even had the fire pit stocked for me. The property is easy to find, well maintained and there will be no problem pulling your camper through.

7 nights at A Notch Above-RV Riverside Campsite

November 2024 camping.....Randy was very responsive and kind. Great for a weekend get away, grandkids loved the barges, shells, and campfire. Area is not like a campground, (no trails or hiking) but fun. Bet it's great in summer to put in a kayak! Very nice having a concrete pad. Make sure your items are very secure before pulling a camper up or down the steep drive, I had a jar shift and break but it was on me for not securing. Looks of the drive can be intimidating, but it was no problem getting in or out. Very close to main road but road was not excessively busy.

I had a great time camping here! The goats came up to greet me and they were very friendly. We also made cat friends! The only thing I wish I knew is that there is a good sized hill you have to climb to get to the site, so pack lightly unless you want to carry it all up!

Relax on the bench on the old country store porch or by the fire ring, fish, or stretch your legs and walk the dog. Rocky Run Creek is a tributary to Seven Mile Creek in Preble County, OH Small creek near residential area. Choice of wide open spaces, partial or full shade spots available. Short walking trail along the creek line is maintained. 'Rocky Cross' Geocach nearby. Please be aware that if we have had a lot of rain, the creek side spots may be too wet and difficult to get back up the hill with the wet grass. If this is the case, we do have the gravel barn driveway that can accommodate your stay. During peak busy season, the barn drive may have additional guests due to site, weather or general camping conditions. The barn drive offers a view of the creek area about 100 feet away and is about 175 feet from the patio common area. WiFi covering the entire camp and all cellular carriers work great here. 30 Amp electrical in many spots. White tank water fill is available in select locations. Plenty of room for tow vehicle at your camp site. Pet policy: Dogs / pets are certainly welcome subject to the following: No destructive behaviors. (Digging, chewing, etc) No aggressive behaviors. (Toward anyone at any time) Please consider that other guests may be present. As of 5/1/24, a new overflow RV spot has been added with 30A electrical. As of 5/1/24, Premium WiFi is now available for additional $5 / day with fast WiFi speeds for working remotely. You must have a self contained RV with on board restroom facilities. We have no restroom facilities available. For this reason, we do not offer tent camping. !! NOTE on camp fire location !! The fire ring provided on the shared creek side patio is the only spot a camp fire, of any kind, can be built. (Sorry, but we have had too many damaged spots in the grass from the use of 'portable' fire ring units.) !! NOTE on Class A RVs with towed vehicle !! If it is too wet to access the creek side spots, we can still accommodate your stay in the nearby barn driveway but if you are unable to back up with the 'toad' then a detach will be required. Again, this is only if it is too wet to access the creek side camp spots. Generally we will be able to help you back in, but at times we may be away and suggest a helper in guiding you into the barn drive. Note, the barn driveway is not a pull through site.
