Rocky Run Creek is a tributary to Seven Mile Creek in Preble County, OH Small creek near residential area. Choice of wide open spaces, partial or full shade spots available. Short walking trail along the creek line is maintained. 'Rocky Cross' Geocach nearby. Please be aware that if we have had a lot of rain, the creek side spots may be too wet and difficult to get back up the hill with the wet grass.  If this is the case, we do have the gravel barn driveway that can accommodate your stay. During peak busy season, the barn drive may have additional guests due to site, weather or general camping conditions. The barn drive offers a view of the creek area about 100 feet away and is about 175 feet from the patio common area. WiFi covering the entire camp and all cellular carriers work great here. 30 Amp electrical in many spots. White tank water fill is available in select locations. Plenty of room for tow vehicle at your camp site. Pet policy: Dogs / pets are certainly welcome subject to the following: No destructive behaviors. (Digging, chewing, etc) No aggressive behaviors. (Toward anyone at any time) Please consider that other guests may be present. As of 5/1/24, a new overflow RV spot has been added with 30A electrical. As of 5/1/24, Premium WiFi is now available for additional $5 / day with fast WiFi speeds for working remotely. Just mention you would like the details on the premium WiFi upon arrival! **Please read the following travel safety advisories** =================================================== ! ROUTE RESTRICTIONS ! ( State Route 127, Eaton and South) If traveling here from the South (only on Ohio State Route 127), please note the height restrictions on three roads that connect SR 127 with the parallel Wayne Trace Road. The names of the roads to avoid: Consolidated (Height restriction 9' 9" under the railroad) Brower (Height restriction 10' 0" over Seven Mile Creek) 7 Mile Road (Height restriction 10' 6" and very sharp turn to bridge) Please watch what route electronic devices may may pick avoiding these routes. A suggested route from traveling North on State Route 127 to Camp Rocky Run is to turn in Camden, OH on State Route 725 and head East to Wayne Trace Road. !! NOTE on RV types !! You must have a self contained RV with on board restroom facilities. We have no restroom facilities available. For this reason, we do not offer tent camping.   !! NOTE on camp fire location !! The fire ring provided on the shared creek side patio is the only spot a camp fire, of any kind, can be built. (Sorry, but we have had too many damaged spots in the grass from the use of 'portable' fire ring units.) !! NOTE on Class A RVs with towed vehicle !! If it is too wet to access the creek side spots, we can still accommodate your stay in the nearby barn driveway but if you are unable to back up with the 'toad' then a detach will be required. Again, this is only if it is too wet to access the creek side camp spots. Generally we will be able to help you back in, but at times we may be away and suggest a helper in guiding you into the barn drive. Note, the barn driveway is not a pull through site.

I have two properties which offer two different kinds of camping, which I have tried to itemize separately in the Hipcamp listings. The pictures were hard to sort out.RV's and Campers will park on the upper level at the Panama Street address which has water and electricity. You cannot actually see the Ohio River from the parking lot, but it is a short walk. Any pictures of water were taken from the tent camping site. If you are in a large vehicle, but are looking to spend a lot of time by the river,, you can hope that the site is available for use, which usually it is, (somehow I rarely book both places at once), or you can book both sites. Tent campers set up their tents right beside the river. There is a very simple house with a bathroom, cold running water, electricity, and also provides shelter in bad weather. It's an unusual set up, as perhaps Hipcamper spots often are. On one hand I feel like I am in the middle of nowhere when I am on these (small, very not fancy) properties by the river. On the other, there are planes, trains, barges and pleasure boats, and motorcycles passing by at times. California is just a few minutes off I-275 from the Kellogg exit, and a 15 minute drive from Cincinnati. It is the eastern-most neighborhood with a quaint village feel. Safe, flat, scenic and walkable, California offers several dining experiences, one a brewery, and quite a variety of recreational experiences. Riverbed Music Center, in season, is a mile away, walking distance, as is Belterra, the race track/casino. The bike trail is a few blocks away and connects to all the other area bike trails including the Loveland Bike Trail along the "Wild and Scenic" Little Miami River. A local nature preserve, California Woods, offers hiking and nature programs, and there is even the California Golf Course. A park with large, grassy open spaces and small playground is a few blocks away. Bring your game of horse shoes, corn hole, a frisbee to throw, your skateboard, golf cart, or some bikes just to cruise around and take in the scenery. The Little Miami River flows past Armleder Park a few miles away, which has a gravel river beach, a dog park, walking and biking trails and connects to the 5 mile loop around Lunken Airport. There is a lot to do in Cincinnati.

What once started in the mid 1800's as a 240 acre sugar maple tree farm is now our little 18 acres of heaven on earth. Our house was built on the property in 1875. The land is rolling and dotted with flower beds, animals, and beautiful green grass that is mowed weekly. We are bordered by fields and a cemetery that dates back to the 1800's.We are neighbors with those who grow crops, raise beef cows, bison, and alpacas.2 blocks from our driveway is Blue River which offers fishing, kayaking, tubing, and canoeing (if you have your own equipment). Town is 2 minutes away, but there is not much there other than a convenience gas station, aTodd's Great Outdoor Bait Shop, and an engine repair shop. There are often festivals, open Music Jams and community events. "Civilization" is a 30 minute drive to find movies, grocery, shopping, and a public pool. The sky appears to be scattered with diamonds on a clear night and during season the fireflies light the trees up like twinkling lights at Christmas! Learn more about this land: We have an 18 acre mini farm, close to a small town and near a river. We have two small ponds that can be fished in during the early spring, wildlife, and birds to watch.  There are 6 very nice areas for camp sites that allow for privacy and relaxation. Each site has a fire pit and table. We also have just put in a new out house and have a port-a-potty for our campers to use. We are 10 minutes from Interstate 70 and only 30 minutes from Indianapolis. If you are just passing through or arriving late,  let us know and we will be happy to have a campfire started for you. Accommodations can be made for group camping!  We also have a gazebo that can be used for weddings and vow renewals. Officiant on site.

Note from host ! Hello Hipcampers, another summer has past us by and as cold weather approaches we realize people still travel. We will still take campers as long as you’re self sufficient . There will be a portable toilet on premises . Thank you. Experience the tranquility of a quiet country setting just minutes away from shopping, dining, and Summit Lake State Park, Winchester Speedway (for those racing fans) and less than a half-hour from an array of entertainment options. Nestled on 10 acres of family-owned, serene countryside, our homestead offers a private getaway for individuals or the whole family. Whether you prefer a secluded retreat or a communal gathering, rent a single spot or the entire 10 acres for your outing. We strive to create unforgettable experiences for our guests. Throughout the year, our property is home to chickens, a cow or two, usually a few pigs, and a couple of dogs, offering a glimpse into rural life. Join us this weekend and gather around the fire pit for warmth and camaraderie. We provide 10-20 primitive sites tailored to your needs, from secluded spots to a communal area where multiple families can camp together and share stories around the fire. Each site includes picnic tables, fire pits, and trash pickup. We also offer firewood, but kindly request that you refrain from bringing wood from elsewhere to preserve the health of our woods for future visitors. For your convenience, we have a small camp store stocked with essential items often forgotten at home. Additionally, children can enjoy our small playground while adults relax in nature. Whether you pitch a tent or hang your hammock from a tree, we welcome you with open arms. Don't have camping gear? Give us a call, as we offer tent and hammock rentals, along with various other amenities. If you prefer indoor accommodations, we have a camper ready for you. We look forward to hosting you on our picturesque countryside retreat.

We offer 50amp service, water hookup and dump station if needed. There is WIFI also available for RV Campers (we are in the country so it is what it is). There are 2 sites. One in the woods for tent campers and one up above for RV campers. We do not have showers or bathrooms for campers. The Big Blue River boarders the whole property. We have kayaks we could rent out if someone needed them or bring your own. We have a large fire ring up above and a more compact one for river front, with the first wheel barrow load of wood free.
