There are no campgrounds directly in Berne, but tent and RV accommodations with amenities like full hookups, wifi, flush toilets, and shower facilities await 10 minutes south near Geneva. Hit up the water park on Pine Lake to speed down slides and jump from a 30-foot tower before heading out of Berne into Indiana nature. Chain O’Lakes State Park, roughly two hours north, offers cabin rentals equipped with multiple bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom, as well as tent and RV sites with access to pit toilets, shower facilities, water taps, and electrical hookups. Wake up and bike Badger Trail, or paddle the 9 Lake Challenge. When winter comes, trade the kayak for cross-country skis and ice-fishing rods. More flurry-packed fun can be had in Pokagon State Park. Cruise down the Toboggan Run, snowshoe, ice skate, and then settle into the state park campground, which features electrical hookups, fire rings, picnic tables, and modern restrooms with showers.
