15 Acre Wood on Lake


300 feet behind our house  is a fire pit, then 15 acres of wood. around an acre lake. We have a boat and you can swim. There's an out house (and use of the woods is ok too) .There is plenty of wood and plenty of forest fun. No motorized Vehicles allowed. No weapons. No hunting. We want to share our land with other lovers of the woods,  plants and animals. Like good "scouts", we expect our campers to leave the site the way they find it, tidy . We have recycle and trash containers. There is a drinking water source at the house. Responsible use of alcohol is accepted but drugs or anything that  impairs physical safety, is  prohibited.

Little Texas Farm and Lodge

Located in the Southern Illinois Ozarks, this lodge and 600 acres are part of the Cache River Drainage area, an area recognized internationally as being ecologically unique.  The Barn is located atop a limestone bluff; the property includes upland flora, wetland wildlife, row-crop fields, and has access on 2 sides to the Shawnee National Forest.  Conveniently located to participate in the natural opportunities of S. Sleeps 8.  Step outside for a view of the yard, the working windmill, the fields, trees, and the pond.  Test your skill at sorting constellations from the spectacular array of stars.  Located in Southernmost Illinois, the property sits on a limestone outcrop of the Ozarks which extend from Arkansas and Missouri across S. Illinois into westernmost Kentucky.   Bordered on 2 sides by the 260,000 acre Shawnee National Forest, nature is literally just outside the door.  When the hiker sits still, nature comes alive:  deer, turkey, raccoons, skunks, beavers, and lots of birds.

The Barn is located on a limestone bluff 110 feet above the old Ohio River bottom.

Ruff Neck Campsite

Located in Southern Illinois, home to the Saluki. Ruff Neck Campsite offers a great location just 2 miles from Walker's Bluff, Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge (Shawnee Forest), and town amenities. The campsite is a great place to see the wildlife and if you are lucky, catch a glimps of the Bald Eagle 🦅

Deaf Barefoot Melange Farm

Off the Historic Goshen Trail that runs from mid-Illinois thru here to Alton, IL which is close to St.Louis,MO. Oldest house on the trail.  1922 farmhouse but homestead older than that.Learn more about this land:Tent or small camper welcome.  Peaceful, farm work around you, fresh eggs available and friendly farmers.    Firewood can be found in piles around the farm.   Very quiet, wildlife crossings and lots of berries to pick.

We are just normal people who love where we live.  We ride horses right on the road, and just move to the side when a vehicle comes.  We do what we want, and are who we are.  Our values include a very deep faith and church on Sunday morning.  We were born and raised Catholic, and Catholic is what we’ll stay.  We don’t care what religion you are, we’re all living for the same God regardless of the church we attend, or don’t attend for that matter!  You’ll know exactly what type of people we are when you leave, and we hope you’ll be so glad you came. Take a break, we’ll offer you the experience your looking for.  Maybe it’s just the sound of no sound.  You wonder what it’s like to sip your coffee as you walk to the barn on a quiet morning to check on the horses?  Bring the golf cart or Ranger if your not big on walking.  It’s your time to spend, so spend it however you want.  Calliman is operated by Allison, a wife and mother to five girls.  Surrounding the exterior edges of the land are the homes of Brock and Jennifer and their three children, Allison’s mother and father, Billy and Susie the landowners of Calliman Stables, and Allison’s family of seven!  The barn, located in the near center of the farm is home away from home everyday.  Most times we’re at the barn to care for the horses, but sometimes we’re there to saddle up and ride the horses.  We have plenty of room, so bring yours too if you have them.  We will gladly show you around, but you may enjoy exploring the acreage and showing yourself around, and we completely respect that!  Your gonna love it here, but you’ll have to leave it so that you’ll appreciate it when you come back!
