Mountain View Glamping Yurt

Nestled high in the Rocky Mountains of southeast Idaho at an elevation of 6500 ft, our yurt has magnificent views of Mt. Bonneville and the surrounding Pebble Creek Basin. Along with a handful of neighbors, within a private property recreational area, we are surrounded by the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, with vehicle access from mid-May through mid-November each year. Pebble Yurt has a 30 ft diameter with a partial loft for a total of 900 ft2 of indoor living space. You will be completely off grid, but with running hot and cold water, solar electricity, and heating and cooling features. We also feature an indoor shower, sink, and composting toilet. Bring your ATV's, mountain bikes, or hiking boots to explore the Pebble Basin. Or take a short drive to Lava Hot Springs for world-class hot pools, water slides, or white water rafting. Fishing in the Portneuf River or Chesterfield Reservoir, exploring the Chesterfield historic town site, or trying out a zipline or go-cart are other local activities. Pebble Yurt was built circa 2010 by a retiring forest service employee to the highest standards. We've used that canvas to create a unique glamping experience for our guests, with the best creature comforts available in a wilderness setting.

Crazy Cow Farm Adventures is located in a small quiet town called Samaria, Idaho. Our family has run this farm since, Samaria was first settled in the late 1800s. It is a working farm, and so you will see us feeding the baby calves, and lambs, irrigating the fields, harvesting and hauling hay as we go about our day. We work hard on the farm but we also know how to play hard. Crazy Cow Farm Adventures has a fun hay chopper wagon football game, peddle cart track (lots of fun for all ages), and farmyard laser tag. All of these fun activities can be purchased along with your night stay. Contact us for reservations and prices. The Crazy Cow Farm Adventures is the perfect place to unwind and become renewed. The Blue Goose is the old saloon that has been restored and turned into a little store, right here in Samaria just a few blocks from Crazy Cow Farm Adventures. Samaria is located near several reservoirs, where those that love to fish, can go enjoy the water. Yellowstone is just a few hours away, while Downata and Lava Hot Springs are both just a few minutes away. Malad City, Idaho is just a short ten minute drive and you can find the grocery store, pharmacy, hospital, and all the other comforts from home there.

Minidoka County Fairgrounds: The fairgrounds are located East of Rupert encompassing an area of approximately sixty-five acres. The grounds includes a rodeo arena, display buildings (antique building, a commercial building, 4-H building), and open air pavilion for livestock shows, family reunions, and other community events. Hidden behind the main grounds is our small and quaint campground in a groomed grassy field. with a spectacular view of Mount Harrison. The Minidoka County Fair held the first week in August and includes a full week of events including entertainment, open class exhibits, food, rodeo, 4-H and FFA livestock shows. Numerous events are held at the fairgrounds throughout the year including Moto-X races, rodeos, auctions, 4-H events. weddings, horseshows, family reunions, and more. Note-Dates have been blocked for these events. We are fortunate to have this multi-purpose facility for use in our community.

(If your rig is not fully self-contained, please note that we do not offer facilities of any kind. You will need a privacy tent for your own portable restroom.) Our house and shop and a few other outbuildings sit on 3.5 acres on a dead-end dirt lane, and we have space we'd be open to sharing with you. We have updated our listing (May 2024) to accommodate your preferably-fully-self-contained unit in our side yard area only (because of irrigation timing in the back-yard area, we are no longer offering that area for your stay). Your parking/dry-docking space in our side yard boasts several large trees and some shade. There are some branches to navigate but there is ample space to choose your perfect spot. The site runs alongside our driveway so our vehicles will obviously be visible from your parking spot but there is plenty of room there for your extra vehicle(s) in our driveway as well. This spot has very little privacy because it is set back from our dirt lane and in between our home and our neighbor’s shed (but they are family). But it is peaceful and safe (and we are very close to "town" and all the conveniences of such). Being almost next to the Snake River, and having a natural marsh just to the North of our property, mosquito repellant is highly recommended during certain times of the year. We are just a few miles (5 mins or so) from the freeway, Walmart, restaurants, and public access to the Snake River (boating, fishing, swimming), and golfing. We have three friendly dogs (lab, Yorkie, pug-chihuahua) but we have an underground fence system so they will generally be out of your area (with a few exceptions) and most likely in our house much of the time. (Must love dogs. ♥️) IF YOU HAVE DOGS, please keep them on a leash and clean up after them appropriately, thanks!
