Small Yurt in the Woods

We have created this place and lived here for over 17 years. Our two boys who are 16 and 19 love to play and create their own piece of heaven. We desire to share it with others and allow them to see the magic of yurt living. We also live in a 30-ft yurt on the property that is our special place.

This 14-foot yurt is a short walk of about 50 yards from the guest parking. You will pass our 30-ft family yurt going to your own private space. The property has a great remote feeling and has space to move around. There is a queen custom bed and room for a child or two on the floor if desired. There is a small gravity feed water system for the yurt and your own private outhouse. Plenty of wood for you to stay warm by the fire inside and an outdoor shower shared by our family. The kitchen comes with pots and pans, plates, etc. and a few extras. You will hear the sounds of nature and North Idaho at times out in your yurt as trains pass through the valley to Canada. We are 1.5 miles away from the tracks. If you are into being independent and open to new experiences then we would love to share our space with you.

Please pull in the drive and pull up past the big garage and park to the left by the Yurt Parking Sign. Then walk towards the trail sign and follow the path. Recommended for you to bring a headlamp and outdoor slippers to walk to the outhouse or shower during your stay. We have towels at the yurt for your use. We can provide a Therm-a-rest bed for your child if needed.

Please bring your own wood for outside fires at the fire pit.

They provide a heater just in case! But the fire was perfect for the small space. 

Perfect wood burning stove! Kept us plenty warm and it was cozy to fall asleep to. 

Great little kitchen with everything you need. And they fill up the water container on top so you can have drinking water and water to clean the dishes with.

They provide all the plates and bowls and silverware and utensils for meals such as pancakes! As well as coffee and a french press: a must have in any place we stay at! 

And they provide you with robes:) Perfect to use for the outside shower!

Outside bathroom! It's only a few feet from the yurt, but you do have to walk outside. It's basically a toilet seat on a hole but it works! Not bad at all.

Home on the Range Campsite

This area is a fabulous collision of cultures that gives a Rustic-Mountain-Beach-relaxed-adventure vibe! (say that 3 times fast!) This is evident even on our property, as historically, it has been a hippy gathering site, a logging area, and a cattle range! We bought it as our 'forever home' and are working to create a forested ranch retreat. The property is off grid and offers all the serenity and remote feeling of a National Forest, but has quick access to daytime fun relaxation at the beach. Camp in mountain solitude with the lake and beach only a short drive away. Enjoy Scotchman's peak and mountain views, sightings of wildlife and horses, stargazing, forest trailheads just down the quiet road; all in a relaxed beachy atmosphere. Shopping, tourist attractions, and all that comes with an eclectic town are just an hour away in Sandpoint. However, a few excellent restaurants can be found in Clark Fork and Hope. Campsites are private and out of view of our off-grid home but just a quick walk away. And you just might enjoy adventure tales from us about riding our horses across America, or make memories when we take you in to pet our horses, collect chicken eggs...or share in whatever farm excitement is happening! A note for booking your best stay: Campsite 1 has the best views, but is best for tent camping or very short trailers. Campsite 2 is flatter and the better option for trailers, oversize tents, and larger groups. 

Moose Camp

Forested peaceful property on 4 acres.  Get a good nights rest at this beautiful retreat.  Minutes from Trout Creek and endless outdoor opportunities.  Lots of wildlife viewing with deer and elk.  Go to River for fishing, kayaking and close to hiking and many other outdoor activities!!   This spot is perfect for Sprinter style campers and smaller trailers.  

Sandpoint Mountain Tiny House

Tiny house in the forest. Wood stove and buddy heater. A skylight above the bed. Windows on all sides. Beautiful cedar trees and very quiet. You can smell the cedars and listen to the owls at night. There is a giant rock for star gazing. Small but comfortable, great for a couple. Bed is a loft. A small desk for writing / artwork.  Outside kitchen area with propane stove. There is a compostable toilet a short walk from the cabin. 20 minute drive to Sandpoint. Dish Restaurant is a bit closer and has a general store. Sandpoint is a fun town with nearby recreational activities and has a great nightlife. This is a place to get away while still being close to the festivities. Many places to swim and fish nearby. The property is located a few miles from the lake.

Lakeview Majesty

Enjoy our beautiful peaceful, scenic property while tent camping or RV camping (full hookups). Gorgeous views of Idaho's largest lake, Lake Pend Oreille. Wake up in a peaceful woodsy setting where deer and turkeys roam the property. Stargaze by night, while you enjoy every lake amenity available by the day, only half a mile away! Sandpoint Marina and beach are only 12 miles away! Want to go skiing? Head up to Schweitzer Mountain, only a short 30 minute drive away.
NOTE: All campers over 12 foot tall please take the Sunnyside Cut off Road.
Do not go under railroad tracks it only has a 12 foot clearance.
