Adventure opportunities include Hiking, Biking (gravel/MTB/road) water sports & sightseeing at local State Parks. Please Note: Bikes and water sports gear are not provided - please bring your own. In addition to our Guest House, we have ample camping space available (tent/trailer/short RV) for overflow guests. About the Land: According to legend, the valleys were named for fated lovers, the Romeo and Juliet of two warring Native American tribes. Nacoochee was a beautiful Cherokee girl who fell head over heels for a Chickasaw warrior named Sautee. The lovers eloped, but a war party caught them and threw Sautee off the mountain. We built this space to share with our family, friends, and any others who love the simplicity of spending time in nature. Our goal was to create a welcoming, cozy space using all locally sourced lumber, salvaged materials, antique furniture, thrifted finds, and repurposed items. It's truly unique and every part of our design has been intentional. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! It's been a 2 year labor of love and now we are ready to share it! Please note, there is a pet fee that must be added before check out under "extras". We have a rooster that you may hear in the wee hours of the morning and we also have a fowl alarm system (2 extremely loud geese who alert us of people, predators, and random vehicles). But you won’t hear any car alarms, city traffic, or all night parties! ReWild sits on our 10 acre property which borders Cooper's Creek Wildlife Management area, 30,000 acres within the Chattahoochee National Forest. We have old logging roads and trails that lead directly into the NF where you can explore for hours without seeing another human. We are located within hiking distance of the Toccoa River which is great for fishing, tubing, kayaking and my favorite, paddle boarding. ReWild is surrounded by many well-know trails including the Appalachian trail, Benton McKaye, and Duncan Ridge as well as many unnamed, hidden gems. Our little community of Suches is quiet and quaint. We are about a 30 min drive from Blue Ridge and Blairsville and about 45 minutes to Dahlonega. If outdoor activites or just relaxing in cottage in the woods is your goal, ReWild is just the place. If you're looking for restaurants, shopping and city life just around the corner, ReWild is not your goal. Beara Beara has a primary suite, a sleeping loft, and a separate entrance for a unique terrace-level studio apartment. Inspired by the surrounding area, friends and family created special artwork and pieces that adorn the cabin. If you are looking for a peaceful cabin in the woods, on the grid, Beara Beara is the place for you. Arrival: Beara Beara is easy to access and situated off of gravel roads in the private cabin community of Chimney Shadows. As you pull around the circular driveway with plenty of parking, you can begin your vacation by listening to the sounds of nature while seated in the rocking chairs or the bench swing. Entering Beara Beara: As you make your way into the cabin, the family room with a wood-burning stove (wood is provided) welcomes you with plenty of comfortable seating. The coffee table stores card games and puzzles on one side and extra blankets on the other. The guest book and remote control can be found on top. The Smart TV offers Netflix, Prime, and more and is mounted above the Dual Keurig K-Duo® Special Edition Single Serve & Carafe Coffee Maker. A sampling of coffee, tea, sweeteners, and sourwood honey from local beekeepers, Honey of a Diehl, will be provided. Just steps away with easy access, the dining area, (set for four, but seats six: two additional chairs are in the primary suite's closet), will be a comfortable place for guests to gather to eat, work on puzzles, and play games. The matching dishes, silverware, and tumbler drinking classes in a variety of sizes are provided for your convenience. The nearby pantry is available for your dry goods while the refrigerator will accommodate the remaining items necessary for food preparation. The water on the main level is safe for drinking; it is filtered water! The kitchen is stocked with basic supplies and essential cooking equipment. The four-burner range/oven and microwave should meet all the cooking preparation needs of our guests. Salt, pepper, and cooking oil are provided. The main level bathroom has a tub/shower combo and can be accessed from the kitchen as well as the primary suite, which has a queen bed, a walk-in closet, a dresser, a hamper, a Smart TV, and a USB power adapter. Accessed from the indoor stairs, the sleeping loft has a comfy daybed with a trundle bed, a dresser, a hanging rack, a luggage rack, a USB power adapter, two Lovesac Squattomans, and a storage table filled with coloring books, crayons, and more! Returning to the main level, you can exit the back door to the covered deck. Prepare dinner on the Weber gas grill or just lounge around the gas fire pit table while sipping a cup of coffee or wine. Either way, the time of day and weather is of no concern. Just relax on the covered deck and take in the canopy of trees surrounding you that provide the ambiance you desire for your stay.
