We do have a spot to dump your black tank when you leave and we do allow gray tank water directly on the ground. We also have 3 RV sites with full hook-ups for long-term renters and a spot for our camper that we rent out on Airbnb. This property offers privacy along with peace and security. For the more adventurous type, we also have a boondocking option for those who do not need the extra amenities. We had such a wonderful stay at the Palomino site on The Open Road horse farm! The property is gorgeous, well maintained, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful scenery and friendly horses. It felt like a perfect country escape. Dana, the owner, was incredibly kind and welcoming. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and even shared great recommendations for nearby attractions and things to do. We loved every minute of our stay and would absolutely come back again!

This is a great place to stay near Athens . It's only 10mi from the stadium, travel time depends on traffic. It's just far enough away to be quite and restful but close enough to all that Athens has to offer. It's off the road and easy to get to. Wide hard pack gravel driveway. Lots are easy to get to. Ashley was very attentive and communicated well for our stay.

I enjoyed staying at the Sunrise River RV Park And Campground last week with my faithful sidekick, Mr. Willoughby. We camped right next to the river and it was 15° cooler under the pines with a gentle breeze. Paul and Michelle were very friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived and since there were no others camped in the primitive area down by the river, Mr. Willoughby had the pleasure of getting to roam around with me a lot. There was a big picnic table and a large fire pit, and a huge pile of firewood and kindling, help yourself! Everything you could dream of and then some for a primitive campsite 😁 But the best part was when I went up to the lodge and had a hot shower in their absolutely FABULOUS shower! On top of that they have washers and dryers available. Considering how inexpensive their primitive campsites are, they have all the amenities of the best facilities I've seen. We will definitely be back this fall when we come through. Many thanks to Paul and Michelle, and I have to say thank you to Randy, their on-site manager, who came down the morning after we had a heavy rain to check and make sure we were safe by the river. Best service anywhere I've been! See you all again soon 😀👋

We couldn’t have picked a better spot for our first campsite on this unhinged adventure. From the moment we arrived, the owners treated us like family—genuinely kind, welcoming, and incredibly thoughtful. The campsite is tucked right along a peaceful, gorgeous river, and even Sir Snugglefluff (our dog) made himself right at home—he’s now a proud dirt pillow connoisseur. When our Jeep broke down in a nearby town, the camp owner didn’t hesitate—came to get us, made sure we had groceries, and even followed up with the mechanic. That kind of hospitality is rare, and we’re so grateful for it. We also happened to be there during their once-a-month cookout, and let me tell you—that smoked BBQ and sweet Georgia tea combo? Absolutely unreal. Heads up for future guests: the cookouts aren’t every day, so if your timing lines up, you’re in for a treat! This place set the bar high for the rest of our trip. We will definitely be back.

We never got to actually meet her, but she made us feel welcome and gave us good directions to our parking place. We felt very safe and comfortable, although it is quite close to a highway so there was a bit of traffic noise. We would happily stay there again!

Loved the site! very close to Downtown Athens, great hook-ups and very friendly hosts. The host even allowed us to last minute book an extra day so we could come early! With all the rain from the past couple weeks the red clay around the hook-ups got a little messy, so just be prepared if its been wet before arriving, aside from that we were very content with the stay! We camped with our 30' travel trailer and the site was very maneuverable. I would suggest arriving before sundown so you can find the driveway entrance at the road easily and so you can enjoy a picturesque view!
