We gladly accept children with the understanding that all children thirteen and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times outside the cottage due to its proximity over the river and being in a very natural wildlife environment. I am offering short-term rentals of my houseboat this season. It is located on the Apalachicola River, about 1 mile upstream of Neal Landing near Blountstown, and is only accessible by motorboat or paddle vessel. The houseboat is in a fixed location and does not move. It is furnished with two beds, a futon, and a loft for extra sleeping space, and there is a generator for power. This is a primitive camp, not a luxury resort stay. You must bring gasoline for the generator if you want power. The beds have hygienic mattress covers, but you should bring your own sleeping bag and pillow cover. You can relieve yourself at the boat ramp porta-potty (~1 mile away) or in the composting camp toilet out back. You must bring bottled drinking water or a Sawyer filter for river water. There is a propane stove/oven, a charcoal grill, and a fire pit out front if you bring wood or collect it. An outside propane instant hot water heater with a shower head and privacy screen is available if you need to get clean and don’t want to hop in the river. My goal is to offer a unique experience and provide a code to the door for the agreed time frame, not to provide every convenience. I would charge more for each stay if that were the case because it would be a real challenge for me to get to the houseboat and keep it stocked. If you come prepared for a camping trip, you will have a great time; if you come with nothing, you probably will not. This is my first time renting it out, so all the logistics are not fully sorted yet. I’m willing to talk with potential guests to see if we can work something out if additional amenities or comforts are required. This is an awesome camp for a hunting or fishing weekend, with enough room for a few friends to relax and enjoy some beers in the evening. This is not a random cash-grab rental property. This is my personal camp retreat, and I only want to share it with people who will be respectful of it and the river. More photos coming soon.

What a beautiful and serene spot to spend outdoors! We tent camped and the space had everything we needed. The other two spots were far enough away that we didn’t feel cramped. There were two RVs with families in those spots. They were extremely respectful. We had plenty of room. We loved all of the furniture, the fire pit, and the grill set up. We used extra long (2-100 ft) power cords to get electricity to our tent so we could heat up our electric mattress pad. The fog on the river in the mornings was magical. The only thing I would pass on is to bring earplugs for those who are tent camping and are light sleepers. As another commenter mentioned, there are dogs in the neighborhood that tend to howl and bark a lot at night. I don’t think it would bother anyone in RVs, but it is something to think about if you are tent camping. That said, it would not stop me from coming back!! This was an amazing space and I hope to bring my kids back with me next time! I highly recommend driving an hour to Merritt Mills lake which is in Marianna. It is a springfed lake with gorgeous Cypress trees and clear water. We took our kayaks and thought it was one of our best kayaking outings. We also drove an hour south to Saint George’s Island. This camping spot is prime location for exploring.

Very well, kept with a beautiful scenery, the fact that there’s only three campsites is really nice as well so you don’t feel overcrowded. The firewood, being chopped and ready for you for $.50 a log was awesome. Beautiful sunrise, and sunset, I highly suggest you try to stay up just for a little bit because we were able to see a ton of shooting stars.

We loved camping on site 1 ar sweet tupelo. The hosts were absolutely phenomenal whenever we need anything they were always there to answer any questions and help us. We certainly will be coming back and would recommend this location to anyone wanting some peace and quiet next to the river. If you want to relax sweet tupelo is your place.

What a beautiful, peaceful welcoming place & Host. We were greated by Sasha, Max a little princess. William came out and chatted with us and showed us all around his beautiful property. Full hookups, a beautiful Bathroom & Shower and washer and dryer area along with table. We had a nice picnic table and a big fire ring which we did use. William has beautiful fruit trees and a garden with chickens.. so cute. The fruit was delicious. We enjoyed cheese & crackers and drinks with William around the campfire and wonderful conversation. Very quiet and the pine trees were so pretty. We wish we could have stayed longer and in the future we will. This was one of our favorite places to stay. A must visit place. :)

This site is very clean & well maintained. Good signage, easy to find, great hookups. Will was very welcoming. We were in a bind because we had generator issues that slowed our trip down & the Hipcamp we had reserved said they would not accept us. Will had no problem with a late check in & had the light on for us upon arrival at 11:30pm! Also great communication with host. Spot was very peaceful & quiet. We were only passing through but definitely a place to come back and just hang out because it's easy to get to & so nice. Will definitely go back! Thanks Will!
