Quentins Treehouse

Lake Garfield was named after President Garfield and was where he had his summer house. My place is the original boatshed of the house. The treehouse was built 15 years ago as a sleepout to watch the stars. It's a pretty quiet Lake up in the mountains of the Berkshires and sits at 1200feet so the nights get a little crisp which makes for a great night's sleep.

This property has been in my family for three generations. It is classic Connecticut with hills and streams and stone walls.

The octagon is a private 122 ft.² that is electrified and heated. It has a full size bed, cabinet and table with chairs. It sits next to a brook on 56 acres of forest with a pond, small waterfall, marsh and 2 1/2 miles of hiking trails. There is a fire pit and outdoor dining area next to the octagon. Out house with composting toilet close to octagon is heated. A great place to rejuvenate in the forest! Dogs welcome.

Moon In The Pond Farm

Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful.  Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a little bit of heaven.  

There are six separate sites to choose from.  All are in separate, different locations around the farm, so you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be sharing a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!)  Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge.  There's  one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan.  There's the BellTent--a bit of "glamping".  And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience.  Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire.  (all firewood provided)  

Our campsites are located in quieter areas of the farm.  One overlooks the pond, three others are under the trees on the edges of different farm fields, one is a cabin nearer the farmstead.  All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience.  During the day times, you may see or hear farm work.  At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet.  You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl  and coyotes howl!  In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars.  

During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates.  If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay.  

Wanna hike?  We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy preserved land.  It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. 

Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others).   Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, off-road, gavel-road and country-road biking, snowshoeing, cc skiing and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity.  Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away!

Love food?  This is Farm-to-Table for real!  Never so close--the table's AT the farm!!  Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc.  Sear yourself up a real treat! 

Very nearby, as the Berkshires is an alternative cultural mecca, there are also  numerous entertainment opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. 

It's still amazingly quiet at the farm where the Milky Way is clearly visible.

The cabin has the perfect amount of space for making dinner and hopping right into bed. 

Lots of open space all around the cabin. You can see lots of the farm right from bed but still feel very secluded and private.

Yurt Farm Stay

Our 18 acres has been farm land for hundreds of years. After many years of overgrowth, we homesteaded the property in 2012. We cut trees, milled wood and built our homes and barn. We live in harmony with our animals and our crops in a permaculture environment. We are just miles from many beautiful lakes, rivers and spectacular parks.

Enjoy a farm stay in our luxurious yurt tent complete with queen size bed and outdoor shower. Meet the goats, cows, ducks, chickens, our pony, Mr. BoJangles and our thoroughbred, Ruby Tuesday, and have a walk around the acre plot of permaculture grown produce. Visit our flower stand, Sunnystems Farm, at the Washington farmers market on Saturdays. Plenty of things to do locally. Visit the many vineyards and breweries, take a cooking class at Hunt Hill across the street, visit the quaint NE towns such as Kent or Washington.

Black Rabbit Farm



Black Rabbit Farm is not only a beautiful oasis, but a fully operational 10 acre farm. 

Situated at the foot of the Berkshires, the farm is home to a small orchard, vineyard, and garden space. 

We take pride in creating a sustainable environment for all our production, based on what the land has to offer. Small greenhouse spaces create year-round production. Rocky hillside will develop a significant "terroir" for our grapes. Even adopted cats prowl the fields to reduce small animal populations.

The views are to die for and the easy access to Rte 91 and the Mass Pike will make your trip an easy one for all involved.

We decided to car camp, and enjoyed walking up in total privacy surrounded by gorgeous scenery. 

The sites are a short hike in, if your car doesn't have clearance to get to them, the host offered to drive our gear back in their pickup truck. 

There isn't a bad view on the entire property. 

From the sites, you can get gorgeous views of the entire property. 

There are tons of lawn games to play near the ale house. 

Signs at the entrance make the farm very easy to find from the road. 

There are a few different porta-potties around the property that are clearly marked. 

Vernal Heights

The Farm was built in the mid 1700's on the same track of land. Hike in or drive to your campsite.  Site #5 & 6 are accessible with a 4x4.  Site #3 is located in a blueberry field. It's car accessible but in close proximity to the Farm. Site #1 & 2 are Hike in sites(1/2 mile).  The farm is surrounded by thousands of acres of conservancy and preserve land. Enjoy nature at its finest!! Camp in a field of fire flies or a remote site surrounded by old growth trees and Mt laurel blossoms. This is a Nature Preserve!!  Please be kind to the Trees and Wildlife that inhabit the land!!

Sight #1.  Its a about 3/4 of a mile hike to the sight. Remote and beautiful.

Humble Farm with Simplicity

   Bring your family & friends to camp at our quiet and very modest small farm. Located in backwoods horse pastures with chickens, a dog, and a couple of horses. The property is very spread out and there is an outhouse for all sites to us.  Your pets are welcome too!  Locally there are state parks with beaches, and state forest for trails and lakes, hiking and biking. Or you can just relax and enjoy the serenity!

  Other attractions include local farmers markets, Gilette's Castle,  and the famous River Ferry crossing the Connecticut River with a vehicle across to East Haddam. 

   We offer an hot H2O outdoor shower here for the comfort of out clients here. It is located on the back of main house in corner.  See map in photos.

    We cannot allow any wood for camp fires to be brought in form the outside for environmental reasons.  It can be pre-purchased for $12 per bundle on this site, or $10.00 cash here at farm.

 Farm Fresh eggs daily when available for $4.00 per 1/2 dozen.  

There are blankets and pillows are provided, but not linens for cabin or trailer sites.

Garbage removal is available as well $5 per bag provided.
