Thousand Peaks Ranch Campground in Hartsel has Scenic Mountains, is a getaway and a home away from home for many users. The campsites are best suited for tents and RV stops. Some of the campsites are close to stunning views and you can sleep every night to the sounds of coyotes and other animals. We are very close to many places where you can find a river to fish, take a walk in nature or take a quick dip in the cold waters. Thousand Peaks Ranch Primitive Campground is a 40-acre site each with a table, fire pit and grill. There is a fee for its use and the stay limit is three weeks. We have well water to supply your shower and are located close to the center of the camp. Thousand Peaks Ranch offers a group campsite with 8 separate group campsites. These sites vary in size: Group sites 1, 2, and 7 ($40/ night) can accommodate between 10 and 25 people per site. Group sites 3-6 ($80/night) can accommodate between 25 and 50 people per site. Group Site 8 ($120/night) accommodates up to 75 people. Each site is equipped with 1 or 2 picnic tables and a Fire Pit. There is a large field area in the center of these sites that can be used for group activities. Please keep in mind that we are a primitive campground. We do not have hookups and cannot accommodate electrical needs. As this is a primitive campsite, we allow the use of generators. Tent camping is permitted throughout most of the ranch. I bought this land to move from HoustonLearn more about this land:I widened the gate and moved my mailbox for easier access. Butane fire rings allowed on private property during a fire ban . Camp anywhere on 60 acres. In one direction there are rolling meadow. Another rocky outcropping. Look to the south and you’ll see the BLM land that shares my fence line. If you want access to town you’re there. You choose how you want to feel. In the woods, in the forest, on huge rocks, flat land or turn around and see CR 1 ( 1/4 mile driveway). Forty five minutes west of Colorado Springs, ten miles to Divide for grocers. One half mile to ice, gas, pizza etc. It is first come first serve with the sites. Two that are near trees for large RVs. One up higher works for pull thru trailers. Plenty of room in the pasture. I just got my first negative review referring to it being dry prairie land. Some pictures are from late last summer.. We haven’t had enough rain yet for it to green up. Also it can be windy.

If you’re car or tent camping, be sure to pack some warm clothes for the evenings and have a cozy spot to sleep. Don’t forget the bug spray—it’s a must for any camping trip. By paying a small additional fee, you can have up to two cars and four people per site. Enjoy your time with extra company! This camp is set on our personal property with 5.5 acres connected to national forests it is 20 minutes away from town and 17 minutes away from some of the best trout fishing in the state. On our property we have a mini farm with chickens, sheep, horses and three curious dogs. You will hear the sheep calling for breakfast. This camp overlooks the lower section of the property where the horse roam. You can walk right off the property to explore the beautiful national forest. There is a moderate trail of 2.5 miles , or you can explore beyond. We are so close to the oh trails located at the front of our neighborhood.

I have owned the ranch since 2005 and have spent my time re-vitalizing this amazing place. There are even several gravesites on the property from the 1880s. Your glamping/camping site is unequaled on top of a ridge that overlooks the Arkansas Valley and the Town of Salida. The other direction looks at the 14,000 ft Mt Shavano and the iconic Angel of Shavano. Recently added is a central area for all Hipcamp guests that includes an area to play horse shoes and a fire pit. Additional amenities will be added throughout the season!

Thousand Peaks Ranch Campground in Hartsel has Scenic Mountains, is a getaway and a home away from home for many users. The campsites are best suited for tents and RV stops. Some of the campsites are close to stunning views and you can sleep every night to the sounds of coyotes and other animals. We are very close to many places where you can find a river to fish, take a walk in nature or take a quick dip in the cold waters. Thousand Peaks Ranch Primitive Campground is a 40-acre site each with a table, fire pit and grill. There is a fee for its use and the stay limit is three weeks. We have well water to supply your shower and are located close to the center of the camp. Thousand Peaks Ranch offers a group campsite with 8 separate group campsites. These sites vary in size: Group sites 1, 2, and 7 ($40/ night) can accommodate between 10 and 25 people per site. Group sites 3-6 ($80/night) can accommodate between 25 and 50 people per site. Group Site 8 ($120/night) accommodates up to 75 people. Each site is equipped with 1 or 2 picnic tables and a Fire Pit. There is a large field area in the center of these sites that can be used for group activities. Please keep in mind that we are a primitive campground. You’re just 20 minutes from Fairplay and a little over an hour from Colorado Springs, making it a convenient escape. Before you pack your bags, be sure to check the fire ban status in Park County, as it can get a bit gusty. Enjoy your adventure! Just a heads-up, there are no trees on the lot, so there isn’t much shade during the day. The driveway is just dirt, but don’t worry—it’s Audi S5-approved, lol. Make sure to check out the image of the property layout so you can find your assigned spot and see where the driveway is. The image will also show a couple of hazards to watch out for. If you’re car or tent camping, be sure to pack some warm clothes for the evenings and have a cozy spot to sleep. Don’t forget the bug spray—it’s a must for any camping trip. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy a safe camping adventure! While the guidelines mention one car per site, you can definitely bring more friends! By paying a small additional fee, you can have up to two cars and four people per site. Enjoy your time with extra company! I bought this land to move from HoustonLearn more about this land:I widened the gate and moved my mailbox for easier access. Butane fire rings allowed on private property during a fire ban . Camp anywhere on 60 acres. In one direction there are rolling meadow. Another rocky outcropping. Look to the south and you’ll see the BLM land that shares my fence line. If you want access to town you’re there. You choose how you want to feel. In the woods, in the forest, on huge rocks, flat land or turn around and see CR 1 ( 1/4 mile driveway). Forty five minutes west of Colorado Springs, ten miles to Divide for grocers. One half mile to ice, gas, pizza etc. It is first come first serve with the sites. Two that are near trees for large RVs. One up higher works for pull thru trailers. Plenty of room in the pasture. I just got my first negative review referring to it being dry prairie land. Some pictures are from late last summer.. We haven’t had enough rain yet for it to green up. Also it can be windy.
