I love that we have so much pristine desert right here in LA County.  It’s a true treasure. Many of my fellow Angelenos don’t realize that you don’t have to drive far to get the full desert experience.Learn more about this land:This huge 40 acre property has the best of both worlds, as you'll feel away from it all while still being relatively close to civilization.   The property is completely undeveloped (no houses, structures, etc.) and is in its pure natural state.  Pitch your tent anywhere on this pristine piece of the Mojave Desert and you will be connected with nature.  A wash runs through the property, so water for trees is not too far below ground and this property is one of the few in the Antelope Valley to have shade trees. The north edge of the property is bordered by Palmdale Blvd, making the property easily accessible.  Palmdale Blvd is also where you’ll want to park unless your vehicle can drive on sand.  And if you forgot anything or want to go shopping or dining, just hop in your car and you’re only 10 minutes from the heart of the City of Palmdale, with every modern comfort. The smaller town of Lake Los Angeles is even closer, offering groceries and restaurants with a small town feel.

Come on out, feel the sand in your feet, the dry desert air in your hair, and unwind a bit outside of the hustle and bustle of the city.You can get to property with a normal front wheel drive passenger car, but taking it easy is recommended for vehicles that do not have excess ground clearance.

Camp Wayta Yawa

2.41 acres, mostly undisturbed Mojave Desert land with Joshua trees and creosote bushes. Be aware of snakes during spring, summer and fall. Set back from main roads. Great views of the San Gabriel Mountains and the Angeles Forest to the south, Palmdale and Lancaster to the west. 5 minutes to the town of Lake Los Angeles. 5 minutes from the Antelope Valley Indian Museum. 5-8 minutes to "Kill Bill" Church and Saddleback Butte State Park. Great area to enjoy the night sky. No utilities provided, everything must be packed in and out. Avenue O takes you to 136th Street East. Go north on 136th Street East. Just after you pass a house on your left, N-10 is on the right (unmarked road). Go about 300 feet east on N-10 (a rugged dirt road) and you will reach the land. Camp on the south side of N-10. Filming and professional photography on request. Other accomodations/uses on request. RVs, trailers, tents, etc. 4-wheel drive/all-wheel drive vehicles recommended. It is not recommended to drive off N-10, you could get stuck in the sand. Always bring a shovel and a few boards just in case. If you get stuck, don't keep spinning the wheels. From Avenue O you go north on 136th Street East (a wide, well maintained dirt road). Make a right onto N-10 east just before piles of concrete debris

Treveling on N-10 for a few 200-300 feet you will see these yellow tires next to the road. This is where you can camp, anywhere in this area on the south side of Avenue N-10.

To get to the campsite, if you are on Avenue O, go north on 130th Street. The sign may say 136th Street, but it is actually 130th Street.

This is what the area looks like at the interesection of 136th Street East and Avenue N-10. You will be going north on 136th Street East after exiting Avenue O. As soon as you see piles of concrete debris on your right, make a right turn. Follow the dirt road
