Towering trees, forest skiing, and convenient accommodations make Three Rivers a camping oasis.
Known as the gateway to Sequoia National Park, Three Rivers gives campers quick access to world-famous natural splendors. Settle into a Three Rivers campground on the shores of Lake Kaweah to go swimming, paddleboarding, boating, and fishing with ease. The campsites here welcome tents, trailers, RVs, and equestrians. Though there aren’t full hookups, campers do have access to amenities like flush toilets, showers, a dump station, and horseback riding trails. For more creature comforts, try a fully furnished cabin rental with free wifi, TVs, comfy beds, and private bathrooms before venturing into the park to see General Sherman, the world’s largest tree. Walk through the sequoia groves, and when winter comes in December, swap out the hiking boots for snowshoes and cross-country skis. Zip 90 minutes north to Kings Canyon National Park to find RV sites and tent camping near flush toilets, potable water, picnic tables, and fire rings. Then wake up to Roaring River Falls before taking the River Trail to Zumwalt Meadow to look for local wildlife.
