Farmstays offer a peek into a rural lifestyle that disappeared for many when the family farm was sold, often generations ago. There is a pace to life on the farm that starts with the early morning wake-up call by the rooster and the sound of the farm equipment and that ends with quiet and the total darkness at night, except for a fantastic view of the stars. 
The Flip Flop Ranch farmstay has sheep and lambs, pigs and piglets, cows, chickens, bunches of barn cats (with plenty of kittens), geese, ducks, turkeys, goats, horses and more.

Your visit starts off with a tour through the farm to learn where things are and to gain some basic knowledge about what we do and the types of livestock we raise. You are welcome to join us for feeding and milking in the morning and afternoon!
Main home Beds are as follows: 2 full beds in room 1 downstairs, 2 full beds in room 2 downstairs, 2 queens in master bedroom upstairs, 1 king in bedroom upstairs, 1 full in bedroom upstairs.
All beds will be freshly made with clean white linens and there will also be fresh bath towels and courtesy soaps provided for all our guests.
There is no smoking permitted inside the home and unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any pets. Guests found with pets at the property will result in an immediate forfeiture of the remaining reservation days and loss of $500 security deposit.
Basic rates (Including 8% Trans Occ Tax), depending on season are: $300/night mid week (Sunday-Thursday). Weekend rates (Friday-Sat)are $400/nt and Holiday rates are $450/nt with 3 night minimum. Specials or last minute discounts may be available within 10 days of a reservation booking. For actual rates on your trip date please refer to the calender. Signing of a Guest Occupancy Agreement, Participation Agreement for each visitor and copy of drivers license will be required upon confirmation of reservation and may be sent via e-mail, text or US mail and is also available at our Flip Flop Ranch Farmstay website. 
***We try our best to keep the calender updated but in the event of a conflict we will notify you within 24 hours of booking.
Guest Access
The entire farm house is yours to use, including the kitchen with full amenities. Feel free to wonder the farm and go into the petting zoo pen whenever you like to hug the fluffy sheep.
The most important activity to consider is the “art of relaxation.” When you find yourself surrounded by natural beauty, slow down, breathe deeply and appreciate it. Watch a sunset, go bird-watching, take a walk through the desert, listen to the livestock, read a good book or just sit quietly and let your mind wander. Blue skies, clean, fresh air, starry nights and the sounds of silence are all included in your airbnb stay.
Interaction with Guests
All guests get a free tour of the farm and can join the farmers for feeding and milking in the morning and evening when possible. This depends on our schedule and whether or not you are around when we feed. Feel free to ask us about feeding times as it changes. 
Guest may be greeted by the farmer but if we are out running errands a combo lockbox is on-site for 24 hour key access upon arrival.
Other Things to Note
The home is located on a working farm surrounded by miles of beautiful desert with hardly any neighbors. Plenty of space to go hiking. Located five miles down the mountain from Big Bear and the ski areas. We're also only 22 miles (about a half hour) from Means Lake in Johnson Valley where King of the Hammers takes place. Johnson Valley also offers fantastic off highway vehicle areas for dirt biking or rock crawling all year long.

Stay in our farmhouse on a century old farm.  You can see the big red barn from the farmhouse window and hear the rooster in the morning.  Join in with feeding the animals or milking the goats!

Farmer Brown's Area 51

One of three properties that are being converted into food forests in an effort to restore and desalinate the soil and water. By staying here you're helping to support that effort!Learn more about this land:Beautiful, star filled nights with no obstructions, will give you that moment of relaxation, without having to go miles off the paved road. Just down the road from a dry lakebed, desert vistas during the day well give you plenty of space to walk and relax.

Easy access from a paved road, gives you access to 2.5 acres and the desert beyond for lazy days of relaxing, or a walk with the dogs. Pets are more than welcome! Lots of room to run, dig and play!

Keep an eye out for wildlife. This includes Coyotes and Snakes. Lots of other things as well.

Easy walking access from the roadside of the property. Drive in from the back on the dirt road.

Mojave Moonlight Camping

Located in the outskirts of Lucene ValleyLearn more about this land: Experience a blanket of stars at night, beautiful sunrise and sunsets. We have limited it to only 4 campsites so there is plenty of space and privacy on this 20 acre campsite.Hike  the  mountain, experience nature and solitude and be just 10 minutes  from a town where a supermarket, hardware store, service station, post office, sheriff's station and a variety of restaurants  are available.This is big sky and wide open California Desert. Remote enough to be away from crowds but close enough for all the essentials.Life is short ...                         Get outside.

My family and I have been coming to big Bear since before we were born. Now that we have babies of our own we have our own property that we made just right for our family. We enjoy hiking, playing at the lake snowboarding, skiing and just taking in all of the higher elevation air. Mojave in LA

I love that we have so much pristine desert right here in LA County.  It’s a true treasure. Many of my fellow Angelenos don’t realize that you don’t have to drive far to get the full desert experience.Learn more about this land:This huge 40 acre property has the best of both worlds, as you'll feel away from it all while still being relatively close to civilization.   The property is completely undeveloped (no houses, structures, etc.) and is in its pure natural state.  Pitch your tent anywhere on this pristine piece of the Mojave Desert and you will be connected with nature.  A wash runs through the property, so water for trees is not too far below ground and this property is one of the few in the Antelope Valley to have shade trees. The north edge of the property is bordered by Palmdale Blvd, making the property easily accessible.  Palmdale Blvd is also where you’ll want to park unless your vehicle can drive on sand.  And if you forgot anything or want to go shopping or dining, just hop in your car and you’re only 10 minutes from the heart of the City of Palmdale, with every modern comfort. The smaller town of Lake Los Angeles is even closer, offering groceries and restaurants with a small town feel.
