Camp Stoney Meadows

Our 220 remote acres are adjacent to Shasta Trinity National Forest in the beautiful Cascade Range between Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta in Northern California.   

It's a working ranch with tree farms, animals, hydroelectric power, sawmill, gardens, orchards, creeks, springs, trails, and our camp alongside Kosk Creek.  

We're 54 miles from Redding off of 299E, (about 1-1/2 hour drive). DO NOT TAKE ROAD 11 FROM THE NORTH, IT IS CLOSED!  PIease try to ignore the "car art" in the Pit River Tribe's Rancheria as you're coming here.  Drive right through it, it's no reflection on us.  The last mile or so of the road here can be pretty rough, but on arrival, you'll know it's worth the trip! 

No Cell phone service available here, so it's the perfect opportunity to unplug. We do have a land line up at the house in case of an emergency. Also, if you really need it, WiFi is available at the house.

Welcome! We’re Jillian and Joe, along with our sidekicks Sonora + Ayla, the brains and the brawn behind Mill Creek Resort. Since 2017, we have been pouring every ounce of our love and energy into this landmark 1930’s resort. We take great pride in honoring it's rich history while creating a space for the next generation of mountain adventurers.

Nestled in 12 acres of cedars and towering pines on the south side of Lassen Volcanic National Park, we offer 9 cabins open year-round, along with 20 campsites, some featuring glamping tents and 8 RV spots, two featuring a vintage 70's trailer and 2015 modern RV. 

We hope your path leads you here to experience all that Lassen has to offer. Miles of trails, pristine waters, dark skies, and wildlife abound, all awaiting to be discovered.

Walker Mine Campground is surrounded by hundreds of acres of BLM land ready to be explored. Choose from a variety of secluded campsites perfect to rest and recharge for your next adventure. There are miles and miles of well maintained trails from Shasta Dam down to Keswick Reservoir and beyond.

Our family owned cabins are located across the street from Lake Almanor! Together with our crew, we're excited to welcome you into our home away from home.

We believe in outdoor BBQs, starry nights, good laughs, exploration, deep sleep, and an early rise. The mountains are a place to get back to basics, a place to explore, to breathe. So turn off your phone and return to your senses.

We hope Camp Almanor becomes your home as it is ours. It’s located in one of the most spectacular areas in the world. From craggy peaks and high mountain lakes to wild and winding rivers, we’re surrounded on all sides by the Lost Sierra. Avoid the crowds and explore Lassen Volcanic National Park, just a short drive away, it is home to steaming fumaroles, meadows freckled with wildflowers, clear mountain lakes, and numerous volcanoes.

We're proud to know this area intimately and are excited to share the secret spots with you. Excellent hiking & running trails, and thousands of miles of ATV, dirt bike, and mountain bike trails are accessible right from our camp or within a short drive from Camp Almanor. You may just want to sit outside and read for days, enjoy the tall pine trees, and eat s’mores. The more adventurous may prefer kayaking, boating, fishing, bird watching, and stand-up paddle boards. The surrounding terrain offers endless activities and unbelievable scenery in a remote wilderness setting.

Our cabin collection is where you will find the perfect lodging for your stay. Our options include a cozy studio cabin with a full bed, bunk beds, or futon, our popular loft cabin that sleeps up to six with a queen bed and two full mattresses in a low-ceiling loft, and our spacious chalet with room for eight. Each cabin comes with a fully stocked kitchen and essential items like linens and towels, ensuring a comfortable stay. To make your stay more comfortable, we suggest bringing along some additional beach towels, as the towels provided are meant for use only within the cabin. No matter what size group you are traveling with, we have a cabin option for you. Book now to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing getaway in the heart of nature.

Pet Policy

All our cabins and seasonal RV sites are pet friendly and we allow up to two dogs per reservation. We ask that they stay off the furniture (beds, sofas etc.) and are not left in the rental unattended. We love dogs, but sadly won’t be able to accommodate heavily shedding pets that aren’t house trained.  Additionally, our insurance will not allow "aggressive breeds" that include any mix of: Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Doberman, German Sheppard.

Please pick up after your pup and use a leash when at the camp. Thank you in advance for your consideration and help in keeping our camp a mellow and enjoyable place for everyone.

Lassen Glampsite (No Electricity)

Enjoy the beauty and wonder of Lassen National Park while staying at our cozy, comfortable summer vacation glampsite located in Lassen National Forest.

The cabin has no electricity (no fridge, washer, dryer, etc), but is like a glampsite and has all the camping essentials, including drinking water, flush toilet, propane stove for cooking, comfortable beds and wood-burning fireplace to stay warm and night.

Please bring your own bedding (one full size bed and queen size sofa bed).

Please bring your own wood for the fireplace.

Burning Star Ranch

This property is easily accessed off Gilman Road on the McCloud arm of Lake Shasta. Once you get off on exit number 698 heading north from Redding CA you travel 7.1 miles on Gilman rd toward Hirz bay. The green cattle fence is on your right hand side. The land is surrounded by a beautiful pine forest with mixed trees and offers stunning mountain views. Despite its privacy, it is only seven minutes from the boat launch at Hirz Bay. On-site amenities include internet access and a screened room, perfect for escaping bugs and enjoying meals at the outdoor picnic table.  There are two tent camping sites and one cabin. The cabin is powered by solar energy and includes Netflix for streaming. The deep sink in the screened room is great for washing dishes, and there is a BBQ for cooking. Fire pits use propane to meet fire restriction requirements. There is plenty of space for your boat or RV, and a dog kennel is available on-site for your furry friends. The property also features a porta-potty for convenience. Two kayaks and a paddleboard are free to use. Come experience the family-favorite McCloud arm of Shasta Lake and enjoy a more relaxed pace.

Cozy Log Cabin Near Lassen Park

Are you ready to unplug from the world and recharge in nature? This newly built two bedroom, two bath log cabin will help you do just that. You’ll reconnect with love ones since the cabin has NO WIFI but does have a wood burning stove and miles of trails to walk on just outside of the front door. The cabin is conveniently located just minutes from the north entrance of Lassen National Park.

For entertainment, I have a TV (no cable)/DVD player with a selection of movies, board games, and reading material including a few books and magazines. 
There is timber land at the back of the property with plenty of trails to walk or ride a mountain bike (if you bring one).  Lassen National Park is a short drive away.  Also nearby is lake McCumber.
I have a wood burning stove inside that you can use for a fire.  
Absolutely NO FIRES outside.  There is a fire ban in effect, thank you for your cooperation and understanding.  I have a propane BBQ outside that you can use, along with a picnic bench and other outside seating. 

I will provide a selection of tea, hot coco, coffee and oatmeal to get your day started.  Be sure to bring food with you since the nearest grocery story is about 9 miles away. 

I will provide a basket of firewood to use during your stay, but it's a good idea to bring extra since it will go fast.

Because you're in the forest, there is limited cell reception so please plan accordingly.  I've found that Verizon has some signal while AT&T has none.  Since it's meant to get away from it all, not having cell service might be a good thing. :) 

The master bedroom is on the entire loft floor so there isn't a lock or door that separates the main area downstairs. Just so you're aware. There is a door and lock on the guest bedroom downstairs.

All you'll need to bring are your personal items, food for your stay,  and extra firewood!

Once booked, I will send more helpful tips and information for your stay a week prior to your check in date.

Dogs - I allow dogs because I believe they are part of the family, but please notify me if you intend to bring your dog prior to your stay. 

If there is high wind in the forecast, the electric company, PG&E may turn the power off for safety reasons.  They usually notify me a day in advance and I will let you know right away, but I wanted you to know that it might be a possibility during your stay.  

For Winter Guests:  A 4 wheel drive vehicle or car with chains is HIGHLY recommended to travel to the cabin.  The main road is paved but there will be snow/ice in the area.  The driveway is a slight uphill and is not paved.  Please be prepared for snow.
