In addition to camping and educational tours, we host private and community events, grow and sell produce and eggs, hatch and sell chicks, rescue ratites, and support the local bee population (which gives us RAW honey to sell), and are working to open a private U-pick-by-appointment orchard. It can be windy at times, in order to mitigate this I recommend using your car(s) to block the wind. Local markets also sell neck gaiters for face protection. I also have pieces of plywood with bricks that you're welcome to move and shift to fit your needs. I am in the process of building a tree/shrub wind block.
There's about .4 miles of dirt road to get to the property, there are some dips to watch out for but I come out here in a little Prius so it's manageable.
Overall, there is an element of seclusion but occasionally people do drive by on the dirt road.
I would rate the cell phone service a 7/10, it's pretty solid but can go out at times.

It can be windy at times, in order to mitigate this I recommend using your car(s) to block the wind. Local markets also sell neck gaiters for face protection. There's about .4 miles of dirt road to get to the property, there are some dips to watch out for but I come out here in a little Prius so it's manageable.
Overall, there is an element of seclusion but occasionally people do drive by on the dirt road.
I would rate the cell phone service a 7/10, it's pretty solid but can go out at times.

Such a cute, private spot near the city. The canned ham may be small but it is so cozy and full of character. The bed was very comfy, and we appreciated a kettle being provided. We did need to pick up our own mugs, so keep that in mind if you like a warm beverage in the morning. The cooler is convenient, but we wouldn’t advise expecting it to function as a fridge. The space around the camper is very private feeling with trees around it. The hot tub is such a lovely addition and was fun to use.
The whole property is very dreamy. There was plenty of space for eating outdoors. Although the weather for us didn’t permit using the pool, it was so beautiful to look at. The bathroom is just a short walk away, and has awesome decor. We would advise bringing sandals or slides for walking to and from the bathroom and shower. The shower is a fun experience, although it’s important to note it’s quite small (width wise) to enter into the cave area. It’s not feasible for dressing in there, so you will also need to be comfortable walking back in your towel or a robe.
The road to the home is very steep and narrow. Street parking is limited but we didn’t have an issue finding parking every night, even when we came back later.
There are a couple of cats on the property that visited us and were so cute and friendly. We also got to meet Morgan who was very helpful and kind! We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

I had an absolutely wonderful and truly unique experience at Josh & Jessica’s Tent Camp @ Working Ostrich Ranch! From the moment I arrived, the hosts made me feel right at home. They were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable, offering clear instructions and being very accessible throughout my stay. Their attention to detail really showed, especially in how they prioritize the safety of the magnificent ostriches—this is definitely not a petting zoo! It's a real, working ranch, and the rules in the description are there to keep both guests and animals safe.
The elder rancher is a fountain of knowledge—his stories and insights were fascinating, and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him. It was clear that he has a deep respect and understanding of the land and animals.
My campsite was tucked away in a peaceful corner by the archery range—an ideal spot for stargazing under the open sky and listening to the enchanting sounds of the surrounding wildlife. I loved the rustic charm of the site, which offered a sense of solitude while still feeling completely safe and well-maintained.
I’m already planning to return for a longer stay next time. I’d love to take the ranch tour and maybe even try an archery lesson! If you're looking for a memorable and peaceful camping experience at an authentic working farm, I highly recommend this spot. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind HipCamp.

My two boys and I stayed in the studio cabin. We had to rearrange our travel dates due to the weather. John couldn’t have been more flexible and accommodating in making sure our trip could still happen a few days later.
The site had a beautiful view, a little kitchenette, shower and wood stove that kept us warm. We had great stargazing and the gas burning stove was perfect for chilly nights.
John was the most welcoming host and made us feel very comfortable. We also enjoyed the nature trail on the site! Overall, a lovely place I would recommend if you want to slow down and enjoy some peace and quiet.

This spot was chill! It’s easy to find, set up, and was a fun, novel stay! it was so quiet you could hear the birds flapping their wings and it was a lovely evening. A nice time out. No toilet paper in the bathroom, but not sure if that’s normal or was a mishap. Either way, all around a nice time. Thanks, Jessica and Josh!

Great stay! If you’re going after sundown plan ahead, there’s no service on site. Will be back more prepared next time. Loved seeing the ostriches :)

This is a great camping situation. In the wild next to the big city.
Nice shower, flush toilet, kitchen and lovely tent sites and campers. Not glamping but not a perfect time of camping.

Weekend Trip to The White Lodge
Wonderful services and even better property. Everything from the bathroom decor and the interior of the teardrop trailer, to the small details around the yard that made the experience live up to its name. The hosts hospitality and responsiveness to our delays in arrival was very earnest and friendly, and their service was overall wonderful. Very cozy, very pampering, amazing hot tub. We didn’t get to use the beautiful pool with waterslide and grotto. And I haven’t even mentioned the great view, the awesome cave shower and the many kitties roaming around. A perfect getaway. Recommend 100%
