Inspired by our love of the desert fauna and the night sky, the Kosmic Tortoise dome tent is located in Wonder Valley, 20 mins from the east entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. We are one of only two inspected and permitted glamping sites in the Joshua Tree area. The tent is situated at the rear of our property with a private road and unobstructed mountain views. Can’t decide between sunrises and sunsets, well here you don’t have to. On any given day they range from spectacular to mind-blowing. If stargazing is your thing, you won’t be disappointed, on a good night you can see the Milky Way. This is the perfect desert escape to unwind, explore or just relax while having access to a safe, air conditioned, solar powered bedroom, private bathroom, mini fridge, gas grill, gas fire pit, outside dining area, outlets for charging and much more. This listing includes the queen bed for up to 2 people. We live on the property and consider The Kosmic Tortoise an extension of our home so please reach out if you need any assistance. The site includes 2 domes on opposite sides of our fenceline. WiFi is available for guest use.

1 night at Our Desert Domestead
The dome was such a fun experience! The bed was really comfortable, a nice selection of amenities yet still felt like you were “roughing it” a bit with the wholistic setup. We were greater as soon as we arrived and got a quick tutorial which was appreciated after a long drive and arriving in the dark. The view at night and sunrise was spectacular!

Weekend Trip to Our Desert Domestead
This place was so wonderful! A really special spot snd the dome is amazing! I stayed here on my own for a night. It is safe and peaceful.
I was greeted when I arrived and oriented to the space.. the dome is lovely. It has a water cooler, coffee, tea, and cookware. The bed is really comfortable and the temperature is regulated so I was perfectly comfortable. One side of the dome is all windows so you can see the sun rising from the bed.
There is an outdoor shower and very clean porta potty just for that dome. No sharing of bathroom with anyone.
It is such a beautiful area..
I would highly recommend this spot!

Weekend Trip to Splitrock - Branch Out Glamping
What a wonderful experience! We're not big time campers, but we loved Splitrock Stargazer!
Super simple self check-in, really nice dome tent, good bed and amenities. The camp store, while tiny, had just what we needed (s'mores, etc) and we were ready to go.
We'll certainly go back and we highly recommend Splitrock.

1 night at Our Desert Domestead
My partner and I were making our first trip ever to the west and happened to joke about wanting to find a “glass dome to watch the stars in”. Little did we know this would become a reality. Thanks to Reeyna’s creative campsite, we crossed off multiple bucket list items. We watched the stars completely unobstructed for the first time. The stars were stunning and it was a lot of fun watching all the different planes go by to the multiple surrounding airports. When we finally went in, we were still able to watch the stars from an insanely cozy bed. The decor and small little accents made the stay extremely comfortable. What a tearjerker waking up to a spectacular sunrise that you can only see online or in a dream. Laid in the bed and watched the sun rise and then swung in the hammock while breakfast was being made. This experience was absolutely unforgettable. The price was INSANLEY affordable in comparison to all other sites that were similar, especially for all the amenities provided as well. Would highly recommend this Hipcamp to anyone I would meet. I will be talking about this experience for the rest of my life. Thank you Reeyna for making this possible!

2 nights at Our Desert Domestead
We loved the private location and the fire pit. The dome was very spacious and it came with air conditioning and even a mini fridge. The wifi was really fast and we loved stargazing at night. Would definitely recommend.
