I loved tent camping at the property. It was just as advertised, and a perfect little get away. Directions were easy and everything was clean. The hosts were easy to communicate with. I brought my dog who also had a great time. I will definitely be coming back!

Camping at Ken and Judi’s is always fantastic. The layout is perfect. Enough privacy if you want it, but it’s easy to say hi to your neighbor (and pet their dog) if that’s what you’re into. Having a shower and a kitchen sink is an added bonus. We love staying here and will be back I’m sure!

We loved camping at Ken and Judi’s! Beautiful and well-planned sites with greenery and lights. Nice fire pits and camp kitchen facilities. Gorgeous views all around and an amazing sunset. Close to towns and many activities. We hiked at Johnson Ranch just down the road, a wonderful dog friendly trail, before heading to the beach. Highly recommend Ken and Judi’s and will return next time we are in the area!

1 night at SLO Country Camp

Ken and Judi’s place was a perfect stay for a quick overnight for me and my friends. The location is beautiful and quiet. The sites are very clean and with all the amenities you could need. Firewood, sink, toilet, shower, etc. The sites are close to the main house but still private. There is a beautiful orchard full of different stone fruits and apples nearby and cats roaming around. Ken came out to make sure we settled in nicely and he was very kind, generous and knowledgeable. We had a lovely time.

2 nights at Camp Arroyo Grande

We stayed a couple of times and had the opportunity to experience silence and tranquility as well as noise and lack of privacy, that famous Russian roulette of campgrounds. You don't have much privacy on your site because of course it is an ‘Open Space’, but in addition to that people walk through your space, around your tent and car, and it is also located in the middle of the land so it is a path where cars pass by; one Saturday we were woken up at 6:50am by 6 caravan buses listening to Regatton very loudly; we don't mind the noise but we think there is a certain limit. Overall, it is ideal staying for a few days, getting to know the five cities and then continuing on your journey. The great location, landscape and nice trail around the Camp make it worth it to spend the night.

This is a beautiful, peaceful, clean camp. The landscaping and sites are interesting. It’s a great place for family fun, too!

Weekend Trip to Organic farm and horse camp

We tent camped at her horse property. Communication with owner was easy and she responds quickly. Once we arrived, everyone working there was very helpful. It was a little bit tricky to figure out where we were supposed to camp. The sites didn't have any obvious signs and didn't look like camp site areas. A couple of camping areas were just surrounding the barn but weren't obvious to us. The barn had a nice bathroom, warm water which I loved. Unfortunately, the night we stayed it was raining but luckily we camped in a grassy area. There was an electrical connection where we were able to easily charge our phones and use our light connection with an extension cord. The location of her farm is perfect. Close to various areas of interest. We just used the camp site to sleep and shower since the area has a lot of things to do.

Beautiful spot! We sat in awe of the beautiful vineyards and mountain views that surrounded our camp area. Ken was so nice and helpful, we would definitely stay again! Awesome set up with outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen area. Went on a hike and went to Prismo Beach which is so close, and a must see. 5 stars!!!

Ken and Judi’s land was so picture-perfect! Sunny weather in March, with all of the green hills surrounding us and the birds singing all around.. it was wonderful! Site 2 is the best for tent camping since there is a place to set up a kitchen and there is a sink. She has some supplies there (I was so grateful for the salt!) there is a cold shower - that was really nice actually! Overall, an excellent place to stay! She really put thoughtfulness to the layout and the vibe. The only small downside is the proximity to SLO airport but it wasn’t too loud. Ken was a great host and came out before we left to say hi. A really safe and enjoyable palace to stay!

I hope all future campsites are as good as this place …. this was our first Hipcamp stay ……. and they have put the standard as high as it can go. I can’t imagine going anywhere as cozy and comfortable as this place. It was amazing! Thank you so much for a lovely night stay! This one is going to be hard to beat!!

Lovely little hideaway close to the village! Camp site was nice and clean. Host was available and kind. Restrooms and showers near pool were available, although the pool was closed during our March visit (which we expected). Safe area. If you want seats/table at your site, bring your own. Keep in mind and respect it is a non-smoking property. We would definitely stay again.

SLO Country Camp was once a part of the Serpa Ranch, one of the early ranches of the Central Coast. It’s remained a beautiful rural pocket in the Edna Valley area of San Luis Obispo. It’s quiet and peaceful, enjoy your morning coffee listening to all the birds waking up. There’s a private creek not far away that draws deer and wildlife. Just saw 3 deer run through out property 2 days ago. Owls, red tail hawks, eagles, squirrels and jack rabbits we see frequently. And you can listen to the coyotes howling at night. We’re surrounded by rolling coastal hills, vineyards, horses, cattle and also land apportioned to the Land Conservancy. Walk down our road and then left up to the top of the hill for a panoramic view of the entire area with the city San Luis Obispo at a distance. Our two sites are flat on decomposed granite pads. Both have excellent views and easy access to our common areas: wash/kitchen prep, and cold-water outdoor shower. Site 1 is best for trailers but Site 2 is adequate. Firewood is available for purchase at camp for those wanting to use the fire pit, or you can bring your own. The San Luis Obispo, Central Coast has so much to see and do! Hiking trails abound, my favorites are Bob Jones trail to walk or bike to Avila Beach, Johnson Ranch and Irish Hills for hiking hills, the Ridge trail for a view over Shell and Avila beaches, and the Harmony Trail to walk grassy cliffs by the ocean. Montano de Oro is only 15 minutes away with rocky ocean cliff trails that lead down to the coastline. We are 5 minutes from the beginning of the Edna Valley winery trail with 30 wineries or more I’ve lost count. Tasting and relaxing in great atmospheres. My favorites are Biddle Ranch, Talley, Mailene, Chamisal, Bailyanna... but there are so many more. We’re 10 minutes from downtown San Luis Obispo, 10–12 minutes to Avila or Pismo beaches. Morro Bay is 25 minutes. And we’re just 5 minutes off the 101 for easy access to traveling. The Central Coast has almost everything for fun, adventure and food. Surfing, biking, hiking, ocean kayaking, paddle boarding, golf, wine and beer culture, ranch lands, shopping and restaurants and we’re close to it all.

This is an incredibly historic site in Santa Barbara history. 2 tribes of Chumash Indians lived here for 10,000 years. This is where Spain landed and began colonizing the area. In the 1950's and 60's, this was the site of the World's largest orchid farm. There is a book called The Royal Rancho, if you are a history buff. We are a farm on the beach just North of Santa Barbara and Goleta, Ca. You will camp in a historic, glass greenhouse with incredible ocean views. Inside is a cob pizza oven that works awesome. (Bring your own firewood),,, a place to pitch tents and tiny artistic structures to explore. You will have a private bath and shower (Primitive, no electricity, but the hot shower has the best view in the world of any shower!) Bring your own toiletries and whatnot. Private beach access from our property. We have a barnyard with a multitude of farm animals. Limited electricity in greenhouse (A couple of extension chords). The fire ban is ONLY for open campfires. The pizza oven and YOUR bbq or propane flame is fine. If you are camping during the rain, be advised, it gets wet in the greenhouse. It's an antique after all!
