This unique sprawling 600-acre property is home to the largest privately-held reservoir in the North Coast region, perfect for swimming and catch & release fishing. Tiny House glamping & with AC

The Redwood Castle is delighted to introduce  our Tiny House "The Tea" set in our forest camp, nestled on the edge of a cliff in the breathtaking Forest just across the road from old growth redwoods. The Tea House, a charming tiny cabin tucked away in its own spot, The Redwood Castle, once a hotel and homestead since the late 1930s, now features our forest camp, Tea House and a two-bedroom vacation apartment (available on Airbnb.)

Our tiny cabin is located in a peaceful wooded area of the property, and  features a comfortable queen-size bed with real cotten and quality pillows, a tiny desk/table and chair, and a loft for storag.  While there is no kitchen at this time, we provide an electric kettle, coffee/tea-making supplies, bowls, and cups for breakfast. On occasion, we also offer options from our farm kitchen - check out our "extras" to find out what may be available.

The Bathhouse, located just a few steps from the Tea House, offers an indoor private shower, vanity sink, and a separate flushing toilet for your convenience.

Eel River Escape

This property is conveniently located in historic highway 101. It's 4.5 terraced acres overlooking the south fork Eel River. It is adjacent to the Reggae on the River and Northern Nights festival sites. It's less than a mile from the tourist attraction One Log house and Richardson Grove state park. The property is a permitted educational cannabis farm implementing regenerative agriculture practices.We have several accommodation options! You can stay in our fully furnished bell tent tucked away in a charming garden. It has a full bed with foam topper, charge station, lounge chair, fan or heater, wireless speaker, and wifi. The property has hot outdoor shower and viewing bluff overlooking Eel river. Enjoy convenient hwy 101 location close to state park and dispensary. Wake up, dine and stroll in this dreamy garden! We also have camping and  RV sites that have morning shade, and epic views and two levels of camping area.

Highway 101 Haven

Take a break from the long and winding 101 Highway. Our private, gated, open field is perfect to park your vehicle overnight or check out the 30ft yurt,  if you need a bed or have a larger family. Located 5 minutes off Hwy. 101 , it's an easy stop to rest your head and get on your way with the many sights to see in the Pacific Northwest.

     Stroll the family garden and check out the sheep that graze the pasture land. There is a hot tub available for an added fee. Community fire pit and pingpong table available. Town is just 10 minutes away.  There is also a convenient market a few blocks away. This is convenient to grab fresh made sandwiches and snacks for a picnic lunch, coffee in the morning or bottle of wine for the evening. The market also has a bathroom. Currently there is only a pit toilet at the property.

     We are 20 minutes from cruising the Avenue of the Giants and about 30 min. to the Beach. There are several State Parks in the area for hiking and swimming, including Swimmers Delight and the Humboldt Redwoods State Park which has over 17,000 acres of old-growth redwoods.

The Heartwood Institute has a rich, 40 year history. Once a massage/mystic school, we are flowing into the 21st Century as the Heartwood Mountain Sanctuary.

 A space for contemplation, meditation, and retreat from the mundane.

 A venue for events, in the rugged hills of Northern California, at the heart of the Emerald Triangle.

 Rooms, classrooms, campsites, sauna, spa, hot tub, saline pool, community kitchen, are all available to campers. Our strawbale temple is always open as a place to pray or meditate. During summer months and for larger events we open the Lodge, with a full commercial kitchen, with incredible vegetarian food.

25 rustic campsites spread across 200 acres, in Northern California, at the heart of the Emerald Triangle. 

Heartwood Mountain Sanctuary has a communal kitchen, world class sauna, spa, hot tub, and saline pool.  Meals and events in the main lodge at some times. The campsites are rough, basically a place in the woods to put your tent, but the communal facilities are luxurious.  

The road getting here is the most challenging part of the whole experience.  Plenty of people live out here with Prius's — but they know how to drive dirt roads. Inexperienced drivers should have a vehicle with good ground clearance, or 4WD.
