Bright Bear Camp in Tahoe NF

Bright Bear Camp is a private two-acre property bordering Tahoe National Forest.  We are located at 4300' elevation down a mostly dirt road along the beautiful Bear River and Bear Valley. This is a very peaceful spot among the trees with a small meadow and creek on the property.

As our name suggests, bears are occasionally in the area so keep an eye out. You may also see the spotted owls that live nearby - listen closely for their calls (https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Spotted_Owl/overview).

There is much to explore in the area and more with only a short drive to the South Yuba River, Emerald Pools, Lake Spaulding, Donner Pass, Donner Lake, and Truckee.

Quail Ridge RV Park & Campground

Quail Ridge RV Park has almost 17 acres nestled in the Plumas National Forest.  We do NOT have direct water access.  We are surrounded by six lakes, with Sly Creek and Lost Lake Reservoirs being the closest (about 3 mi. north of us), two major rivers and Feather Falls, the 3rd largest waterfall in California (trail is currently closed until Spring of '24). Outdoor activities abound with fishing, swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking trails and mountain biking trails.  You can also explore the local rivers and try your luck at gold panning.  

Our park is primarily divided into three areas:  (1) RV sites for weekend RV's that have full hook-ups, which include 30/50 amp. electric, water and septic connection (no pull through sites); (2) an area in the middle of the park where permanent residents live; and (3) an area for volleyball, badmitten and playground on the opposite side of the park.  

Sorry, but due to the always present fire danger, no wood burning fires are allowed.  You may use your own propane fire ring or propane or charcoal grill. 

We have clean laundry and showers and flush toilets on the north side of the park.  There is one shower and one flush toilet for each men and women that are handicapped accessible. Showers cost $1 for 12 minutes of hot water.

Cell phone service is spotty. AT&T/Cricket and sometimes Verizon work the best.  We now have free Wi-Fi in the park!

Quail Ridge RV Park is very pet friendly. However, we cannot accept aggressive breed dogs, or Pit-Bull mixed dogs (sorry, but our insurance company restricts these breeds).  Please identify the dog breed when you are making a reservation.

Lake Oroville Glamping

Lake Oroville was created by the Oroville Dam, which the State Department of Water Resources completed in 1967 after 5 years of construction. Lake Oroville conserves water for distribution by the State Water Project to homes, farms, and industries in the San Francisco Bay area, the San Joaquin Valley and Southern California. The Oroville facilities of the project also serve to provide flood control and smog free generation of electric power in addition to recreation.

When the Lake is at its maximum elevation, it includes some 15,500 surface acres for recreation and 167 miles of shoreline. Recreation areas are spotted around the Lake and boaters can land at any point to explore the surrounding country. The lake offers a wide variety of outdoor activities including camping, picnicking, horseback riding, hiking, sail and power boating, water-skiing, fishing, swimming, boat-in camping, floating campsites and horse camping.

Learn more about this land:A gorgeous loop around 5 acres and a mystical oak forest to camp in. We don’t have standard RV hookups, but we do have many campsites that are equipped with electrical outlets and water spigots. Nice big fire pit and a great view of the stars at night!

The Town of BangorLearn more about this land:Bring your Rv or trailer to historical Bangor! We are located about a mile from downtown Bangor and part of the Bangor Wine Country area.  Come relax in the foothills where you can see stars at night and swim in the local lakes around our area.  Make sure you stop by our local wineries and distilleries in the area.  

Lost Sierra Meadows

Come explore the Lost Sierras!  Mountain view parcel is grassy with a slight uphill slope.  Open, flat, graveled turn circle is 90' in diameter.  Room to park for 1-2 RV's with boats, etc.  EZ access to Marysville Rd.  Only 1 mile from Collins Lake, 2 miles from Thousand Trails.  Five major recreational lakes within one hour of this location.  Bullards Bar Res about 20 mins.  Fishing, hiking trails, kayaking all close.  Pick wildflowers and birdwatch right on the property!  Ace True Value Hardware store & the  Willow Glen Restaurant within walking distance.
