Newberry Springs, California is a very small peaceful town located off of Historic Route 66, also known as the "Mother Road".
It is most famously known for our groves of pistachios and the famous Baghdad Cafe which was featured in the 1987 film Baghdad Cafe. Our property happens to be 1.5 miles from the famous Baghdad Cafe which makes a quick visit to the Cafe incredibly convenient.
To celebrate our Pistachios, come join us the first Saturday of every November for our Pistachio Festival which boasts lots of vendors, food, and fun!
Speaking of festivals, if you like large firework shows in the sky, then you'll want to be sure to book a spot here every July 3rd for our big 3rd of July Festival which again, is home to lots of vendors, food, fun and an amazing firework display which we happen to have front row seats to. You won't have to worry about parking if you're already here!
Do you love celestial events? If so, you'll want to book a site here between July 17th and August 24th for the 2025 year, to witness the Perseids Meteor Shower. Our night skies are also one of the best views for many Space X launchings as well as just simply stargazing. Newberry Springs, California is a very small peaceful town located off of Historic Route 66, also known as the "Mother Road".
It is most famously known for our groves of pistachios and the famous Baghdad Cafe which was featured in the 1987 film Baghdad Cafe. Our property happens to be 1.5 miles from the famous Baghdad Cafe which makes a quick visit to the Cafe incredibly convenient.
To celebrate our Pistachios, come join us the first Saturday of every November for our Pistachio Festival which boasts lots of vendors, food, and fun!
Speaking of festivals, if you like large firework shows in the sky, then you'll want to be sure to book a spot here every July 3rd for our big 3rd of July Festival which again, is home to lots of vendors, food, fun and an amazing firework display which we happen to have front row seats to. You won't have to worry about parking if you're already here!
Do you love celestial events? If so, you'll want to book a site here between July 17th and August 24th for the 2025 year, to witness the Perseids Meteor Shower. Great directions and communication from Captain Jon. Even though he is closed for the season, he graciously answered my query about a one night stay. I had wanted to stop earlier in the season, but he had sold out for the night! This was a very peaceful quiet overnight for me & my dog. The temps were cold so we did not swim in the clear pond. But we watched a beautiful sunset, and beautiful sunrise. I hope you return in warmer weather, to dip my toes in the pond!!

The Ac is perfect and hits as soon as you walk in, the bed area was warm during the day but with the fan on and the cooling down on the evening it was comfy at night as well. We were pleasantly surprised to see a toilet and a shower since we hadn't seen them in the pics.
It's a dreamy tiny home with everything you could need. Even some board games and checkers. Loved the cute little radio which I enjoyed while cleaning the pots and pans. We made breakfast in the firepit and smores at night. The night sky was clear that you could see the milky way! We fell in love with Sandy Valley Ranch a second time. So serene and beautiful. The dogs are so well behaved and we love all the animals. Glad to celebrate a birthday there and already looking into staying again.

Jon is so friendly and welcoming! His land has tons of available activities and shared spaces for socializing and the sites are well dispersed around his swimming hole. I was only passing through for one night but it was a hot afternoon and my dog got to cool off swimming while I took an available paddle board out on the water. I will have to come back for a longer stay sometime.

Weekend Trip to Sandy Valley Ranch
We enjoyed our stay and we can't wait to go back! It was so peaceful and it was so nice to get away from the city. Loved being able to walk around and see all the ranch animals! It was the perfect getaway. The camper is charming and cozy. It got a little warm during the day but it wasn't unbearable. They have a mini swamp fan. There are plugins for a fan if you wanted to bring one. We cooked breakfast in the morning and made smores in the campfire at night. We brought our portable hammock/ w stand to star gaze. They do have meals and other activities available. We plan to do it all next time and hopefully stay a bit longer. We stayed one night and even though it was short I would do it again! We will keep an eye on events so so we can drive down and enjoy from time time to time.
