Hawks Hideaway Camping, LLC

17 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents7 acres · Cottonwood, AZ
We offer various camping accommodations, as well as a teepee. See our different listings for info on each. A few choice examples of local activities to do on or very near to our campsite include: Bird watching, hiking, river rafting or tubing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, horseback riding, stargazing, and even rockhounding. This area conforms to the Arizona Dark Sky initiative, and while we are not dark-sky certified, we've had several guests compliment us on our location. When it comes to rockhounding, or amateur geology, this is a fantastic area for exploration and study.  The cliff walls of the Verde River offer clear and distinct sedimentary layers, and the frequent flooding of the massive sandy riverbed reveals countless undiscovered treasures. We gladly welcome pets, including horses, as long as the guests inform us of their presence, and takes care of all their needs, including cleaning up any mess. There is a professional horse-boarding field and stables adjacent to our property, and a long pleasant trail allows horseback riders to follow the Verde Greenway into Old Town Cottonwood if they so desire. Please remember that this is a natural and secluded spot located directly adjacent to the state-maintained Verde Ripparian Greenway and the Verde River. This means you may encounter wildlife and pests associated with being in such close connection to nature. Be prepared to tuck your food away and bring ample protection from the insects.

Grand Canyon Oasis High Desert Camp

10 sites · RVs10 acres · Doney Park, AZ
We are a family-owned RV park and tiny home village located 50 minutes from the east entrance to Grand Canyon National Park and only 20 minutes north of Flagstaff, Arizona. Our family -- Adam, Shelley, Zoe, Ava, and Cairo -- purchased the RV park in 2021. The property was a trading post for decades but had fallen into disrepair. We have been busy painting, cleaning and improving the grounds to become a comfortable oasis for your family. Our location on US Hwy 89 on the east side of the highway is only a few miles from the breathtaking aspens of Lockett Meadow, the ruins of Wupatki National Monument and the lava flows at Sunset Crater. The park is a short drive to downtown Flagstaff, and on the way to the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Lake Powell, Moab and Durango. Stay the night or as long as you like! Drink in the hibiscus sunrises above the Painted Desert and relax into the long shadows of the San Francisco Peaks. Let us know if you want to borrow a telescope to explore the darkest night sky you have ever seen! We are excited to share our home with you!

Meteor Camp; Winslow

70 sites · RVs, Tents79 acres · Leupp, AZ
Great BOONDOCKING campsite! Only 5 miles west of Winslow, Arizona. About 3.5 Miles North of I-40 at the Meteor City Rd. Exit. The dirt road that runs north from the I-40 exit is relatively flat. I drove to the property in a low 2 wheel drive car with no problem. So a large RV should have no problem getting to the camp. Rainfall is very minimal. 79 acres sitting at 4900 foot high desert elevation. Stargaze with only light from your campfire. Distant mountain views (West) towards Flagstaff. The property is completely natural/primitive with natural scrub and tumbleweeds. Beautiful shallow canyons run North to South. The property can be windy, so I just used my car as a windbreak. There are scatter rocks for a fire ring and sage scrub that burns good and hot on property, very little fire danger due to the terrain. One of the largest Meteors hit the Earth millions of years ago; only 12 miles from this primitive/ natural camp!! Yes there are pieces of that meteor, if you look real hard you might see them on property. If you need to wash clothes, take showers, purchase food and drink, get gas; the Navajo Blue Travel Plaza is just 12 miles West on I-40. Meteor Crater Exit is only 3 miles West down I-40 with Gas station. Rest Area is 2 miles West on I-40 also. The Two Guns exit is only 4 miles West on I-40 with some old trading post ruins and a river! Meteor Crater National Landmark is literally 12 miles Southwest (as the Raven flies). Twin Arrows Casino is only a 16 minute drive from this camp site, West on I-40 (entertainment and great food). Petrified Forest National Park is 35 miles East on I-40. Walnut National Monument is 36 miles West. Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument is 46 miles West on I-40 then North on 89. There are several old Navajo and Indian Ruins and early 1900s settlement ruins within a 40 minute drive. God Speed, Have Fun and Be Careful!

Rural Ranch & Petting Farm

5 sites · RVs, Tents5 acres · Cornville, AZ
Harmony Acres is a small, relaxed family farm in the high desert near the red rocks of Sedona, AZ. We love to host nature and animal loving people that want a taste of country life. Our guests often become our good friends. We have the friendliest farm animals that you can meet and greet, and you can help around the farm if you want to participate or learn. Our sunsets and night star-gazing are just spectacular and we're enough off the beaten path that there's no crowds or traffic to deal with, but you are close to dining and area attractions. This is a quiet, rural neighborhood and a peaceful farm that borders the National Forest for easy hiking and few neighbors. The farm animals do cluck, crow, whinny, neigh, baa, bleat, squeal, and oink at various times, including early morning. There is one mile of a somewhat bumpy gravel road with hills to reach our neighborhood, so please make sure you are ready for that and have adequate towing power. The nearest services and dining are 5 minutes away. We are about 25-30 minutes to Sedona, the Village of Oak Creek, and the popular red rock hiking sites. There are many wineries and dining right down the road to enjoy. 1 hour to Flagstaff, 2 hours to Phoenix. Come enjoy a taste of rural Arizona!
