In the afternoon, goats were let out of their pen to graze nearby our tent. 

Richard let us get to know his goats by giving them their favorite treat, sunflower seeds! 

Take a stroll around the property and admire this beautiful giant cottonwood tree.

Richard showed us his obsidian collection, and even let us take one home!

This place is probably not for you...   If you are looking for a true hotel experience - keep looking, if the thought of climbing through small doorways inside the home sounds like a challenge - or if you are opposed to living close to nature look elsewhere.   If life on the edge of the mountain with an uneven landscape gives you vertigo stay home.   However if you are looking for a truly unique experience and a chance to stay in a home designed by a brilliant architect ( Paul Nonnast) sounds like a dream come true  - then this is your place and it is for You that I have gone through the effort to make this available to host new friends who share my sense of wanderlust.

Cave Creek Quiet Homestead

Quiet slice of heaven under the stars on our homestead. 

Due to some unexpected commitments, it was necessary to reduce our camping experience for our winter 2024 season. We are very sorry, but will reopen as soon as possible. Please check back for open dates and sites 
Our space offers a tranquil setting with several camping options.

Site # 3: RV Glamping.  Queen size bed with a dinette that can be used as an extra bed for the little ones.

We offer Communal Spaces with restroom, grill, table, other seating with larger fire-pit. Feel free to visit our horses, chickens or hike our beautiful trails right from the property. 

Enjoy the horses, the stars at night and our neighboring coyotes sing if you are lucky. 

Our home is close by, the little white farmhouse on the hill.

We are an new dairy called Zen Farms at the only Historical Pecan Farm in Tempe. We have teamed up with Compassion Care Animals LLC to create a unique and one of a kind experience for all who visit us. We have goats, sheep, cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, cows, and horses!! Many of the animals are therapy pets and enjoy hands on expressions of love and affection. Our cows, Didi and Amelia, love to be pet and scratched, cuddled and hugged, So do our Goats, Sarah, Luke, Princess, Tessa, Shelby, Sally, and Chloe. Our Ram, Beauregard Jr., or Beau, has his flock which love attention as well. The Horses, Hunter and Smoke, enjoy carrots and apples as their favorite treats. Nestled in a quiet little neighborhood right in the middle of town not far from downtown Tempe and only 15 to 20 minutes from downtown Phoenix, our Ranch has over 100 years of History within this area. When you walk through the doors of this place you travel back in time. 8 foot brick walls surround the ranch giving it a quiet and secluded allure. Originally built by the owners Great grandfather and his brother the house is known and recognized as one of the few historical homes in Tempe. Also known as the Risley Redden House, it's architecture is a marvelous display of lasting workmanship and uncanny construction skill. Staying here isn't only therapeutic, but also a rare opportunity to delve into the history of what the city was built upon. Our plans include growing food, raising our animals with a no kill policy, being a productive dairy, staying sustainable so that we are in-tune with the Earth, and making new friends every day!
