Camp Verde offers RVers scenic views, epic outdoor activities, and a taste of historic culture.
Set in Verde Valley, Camp Verde has steamy summers with temperatures that reach up to 100°F. Try swimming and cliff jumping in Slide Rock State Park and boating on Upper Lake Mary on a hot day. Winters, however, can get chilly. Look for RV parks near town with full hookups and firepits to stay toasty in the off-season. During any season, RVers can pay a visit to Montezuma Castle National Monument and park the RV at a private campsite that is known for dark camping. Wake up and view historic Native American dwellings carved into the monument’s limestone cliff face. Nearby is Verde River, where anglers can reel in trout, and kayakers can leisurely paddle the drifting waters. Or, discover pet-friendly RV campsites near Coconino National Forest, featuring grill-top fire rings, picnic tables, and easy access to trailheads. Hike the West Forks Trail in Oak Creek Canyon, which is extra gorgeous in fall when the leaves are changing. Then drive the RV over Red Rock Scenic Byway (State Route 179) for amazing views.
