A collection of tent sites tucked off in its own little corner, Loop A of the campground at super-popular First Landing State Park has the advantage of being somewhat isolated from the rest of the camp.

If you’re not a social butterfly, if you’re worried about noise level, or if you’re planning on slipping out of the campground a lot to get in some hiking or Virginia Beach action, this is a bonus in itself. Sure, it’s a little further from boating-and-swimming-friendly Chesapeake Bay than some of the other loops, but that’s just a pleasant stroll.

The Guinea Farm, Field, and Forest

The Guinea farm is 18 acres of feild and forest on the rural middle pennensula. Only 1 mile from 2 separate secluded beaches and a boat launch. There is verly little traffic or light polution here, nature is at your fingertips. Come visit the farm and experience agrotourism at it's finest. Pick your own veggies in the community garden and meet the Guinea fowl! Enjoy the windernes and learn about the local ecosystem here on the middle pennensula. There are 3 sites spaced out across the 18 acres set apart for privacy. Wisteria is a primative site closer to the entrance gate. Trilogy is a suspended tree tent in the pines 700' beyond that and seperated by dense forest. Stargazer Tiny cabin is an offgrid rustic camping cabin on the back side of the property. Each site is surronded by several acres of forest and close to the edge of a large feild. There are romaing guinea fowl that may come make a very loud appearance as they canvas the property eating bugs. Deer, Turkeys, Bald Eagles, foxes, and other wildlife are common guests also. Mid-summer is what I call frog season, Tree frogs are abundant and provide a wonderful soundtrack. There are free to use bicycles, an axe throwing board, and cornhole boards available. 4 miles from shopping and dining in Mathews Virginia, 15 miles to Gwynn Island. Gwynn's Island is an island located in the Chesapeake Bay off of Virginia's Middle Peninsula. The island is located in the northeast part of Mathews County, south of the mouth of the Piankatank River. It is connected to the rest of the county by a swing bridge over Milford Haven.

The Oysterhouse Landing

A small landing used by commercial fishermen, featuring several of the iconic Chesapeake Bay wooden deadrise work boats. Offering a limited number of level, private, grassy, campsites as a home base for your coastal Virginia adventures. All sites are direct waterfront. Pit toilet, potable water, and outdoor shower available on site. 2 sites are unimproved and offer no water, electric, or sewer. 2 sites offer 30amp electric and potable water hook ups. A gravel boat ramp is adjacent to this property and is suitable for launching boats up to 28'. There are multiple sites on the property that are suitable for launching canoes, kayaks, and other small boats. You may berth your boat at our private dock. A full service marina is located 1 mile away, via either water or land. Situated in a quiet and peaceful rural setting, the Severn River is a boater's and sportsman's paradise offering excellent fishing for the angler. Diverse waters for both the powerboater and the sailor. Clean beaches and water for swimming and tubing. Miles of pristine shoreline for the kayaker to explore. And expansive wetlands for the waterfowl hunter. Or venture further into the Mobjack and Chesapeake Bay with easy access from this site. The property is located near the end of a lightly traveled (dead end) road for safe bicycling and walking. Large grass area for field games. Fishing and crabbing at our private dock. Fantastic sunrises, sunsets, and moonlight shimering on the water. If you are fortunate enough to be here when the waterman return to the dock with their fresh catch of crabs or oysters--- they just might sell you some right off of the boat! Nothing is better than a truly fresh meal of Chesapeake Bay seafood, and the harvest that lands at our docks is world class. Conveniently located 15 minutes from Yorktown, VA. which offers many historic and modern attractions, including an excellent white sand swimming beach. 35 minutes from Williamsburg, Va. with it's many historic attractions and visitor amenities. 35 minutes from Busch Gardens and Water Country theme parks, and 1 hr from King's Dominion theme park. Be aware that this is a working waterfront, and as such you should expect very early activity and noise as commercial fisherman head out in pursuit of their days catch. Situated in an area of coastal salt marsh which can become "buggy" when the wind is still. Have insect repellent available. Host is a seasoned camper and regularly boondocks in a camper van.

This is available in Virginia Beach? Yes…there’s a place where you can still catch sight of a deer or fox through the tall trees, spot dancing river otters on the bank or in the creek. The Wildlife Refuge is adjacent to this property and across the bay…In this area of Pungo you can expect to see migratory birds, more than 300 species call this place home…which affords some of the best bird-watching opportunities on the East Coast. While this is especially true during the fall and winter months, when thousands of birds, such as snow and Canadian geese, tundra swans and a variety of duck species flock to the Bay to rest and feed before their long journey south, many species can be spotted year-round. Osprey, gannets, gulls and terns can be seen fishing and wax myrtles line the canal to the bay which provides habitats for a variety of nesting songbirds. There is no shortage of waterfowl that can be spotted here. In addition to a large number of avian visitors each year, Back Bay is also home to many other species that crawl, swim, scurry and slither with a variety of snakes and turtles. Few places on the East Coast offer such unique beauty and diversity of wildlife and opportunities to experience all of these wonderful creatures in their natural habitats abound. Head out of our private launch on a paddle boat, paddle board or one of our kayaks into the Back Bay. These are available as extras😊. There is a fire pit, firewood, a kudu grill and string lighting throughout the trees! The wild is calling you at The Back Bay Marsh Duck Way Campsite. All you have to do is answer.

Well it’s here. I’m Located in Wakefield Virginia. If you’re traveling to Virginia Beach I’m one hour away. From my farm there is a free ferry in Scotland where the ferry departs to Williamsburg just 30 minutes. At my farm I have 5 sites for tent/camping so it’s spaced appropriately apart I have 2 Rv sites totally away for their privacy and a new mini house also properly spaced away. All have a clean picnic table and a fire pit. 100 feet away you’ll find that clean bathroom, shower and a wash station for hygiene. You’ll see the love I put into this and because I love it and my prior guests love it, which means it may be right for you also. In the town of Wakefield you’ll find gas stations, dollar stores, a Value food market and if you want (to go) food we have that also. Plus it’s home to The Virginia Diner. Amenities include toilet access, a shower, trash disposal, picnic tables, and potable water. Pets are allowed, as are campfires.

We are centrally located in the heart of Hampton Roads within a 15-30 minute drive to Virginia Beach Ocean Front, ODU, NSU, ORF airport, all Navy bases, and Waterside District. This cozy RV campsite was previously used to store our Airstream as a spare guest house which we no longer own. It comes with sewer hookup, city water, 30 amp outlet. Guests have full access to use the private concrete boat ramp to launch a canoe/kayak for a quiet cruise on the river, or use the private fire pit sitting area. Pets are OK!

Our property is located in Deep Creek Chesapeake, VA on the intercoastal waterway/dismal swamp canal. We have 4+ acres of natural beauty at the end of a gravel road. Though we are not far from the city, nature definitely is the main character around here. The waterway is brackish (salt and fresh) so there is a wide array of wildlife to enjoy. Bald eagles and heron fly over daily and we often see otters, foxes and raccoons and birds galore. Guests have access to kayaks and dock (2 story) for fishing and/or relaxing. Water views from any spot on the property. We also have two friendly dogs that would love to meet you.

In addition, Beaverdam park is about 15 minutes from our location and has trails, fishing, kayaking, etc. We are about 45 minutes away from amusement park Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. There are many, many activities to enjoy nearby.

This park is in the city of Virginia Beach, so it's pretty busy, but it is a great way to explore this resort town without shelling out for a hotel.
