In the morning and evening, the mule deers hang out in the grass surrounding the campground. They don’t fear the people or the noisy RV groups. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. The campground is walking distance to the pedestrian entrance of Zion and Springdale. Zion Brewing is literally right there. The Visitor Center is a tad bit further where you can pick up the shuttle on the weekends to the hikes along the Zion Scenic Drive. Make sure to get your ticket ahead of time or jump on the app at exactly 5PM MT to get your $1 shuttle ticket. They DO turn away people trying to get on the shuttle without a ticket. Decent Sprint LTE cell signal here.

Watchman was gorgeous and quiet despite plenty of campers around us. A doe and her babies nibbled on grass right next to our sight as we relaxed by the fire. And of course you're in Zion which is gorgeous.

Try to select a spot near the creek to cool off.

I have mixed feelings about this campground. The sites aren’t that big, and they are right next to each other. However, when I plan a trip to Zion I still choose Watchman Campground because it is SO convenient. Just leave your car at the campsite, shuttle wherever you like in the canyon, and walk a few hundred yards to the brewery and camp shop in Springdale. Be aware that when we stayed there in early October, the yellow jacket situation was out-of-control. The sites on the outer edge of the D-Loop are the nicest. I stayed in D-25 once, and though there were still campers on either side of us, we at least had one side that was private and right in the shadow of the red rocks.

My husband & I camped here back in 2006. Zion is absolutely amazing & has so many memorable hikes. It wasn't great camping, I can remember being so close to the neighbors tent we could hear them snore & fart all night long, but the beauty of waking up next to the Virgin River was worth it!

Great campground and definitely a spot I'd want to stay again when back in Zion. It can book up, but they have good spots with decent privacy and its a very clean and nice campground. Wake up to views in Zion, doesn't get much better! Also right next to the visitors center and walking path into park and into down. Great spot! And does have cell service there.

We stayed at C17 in Watchman campground which was RIGHT next to the bathrooms. The noise and light was pretty awful. Check the map before you book and put a few sites in between yourself and the facilities.

Watchman was a great stay. It's definitely the most popular site in Zion, so you're taking the crowds along with the rest you seek. I was there for two nights, and it was a peaceful stay. I spent most of my time in the area hiking, but when I was there I was able to make food, read, have a beer, relax and enjoy the amazing weather. Picnic table in my spot, plenty of space to pitch my tent, parking spot with my site, bathroom facilities not too far from any site. Good spot if you're ok with a little more public interaction.

Awesome campground with clean bathrooms. "Hike in" sites do not require a hike. There is essentially a parking lot within the surrounding sites.

Avoid the areas in loops B, C, and D that are close to the group sites. First, the bathrooms will be extra crowded, second the sites are louder (one group was loud till way past 11:30 when we were there), and third, they are a long walk to the shuttle bus and everything else

Weirdly, go for a hike-to site. The walk isn't far at all, but the view of the cars is obstructed. Hands down, the most magical, utterly-enchanting campsite I have ever stayed at.

Close to the main road but later in the evening the traffic is very minimal. Perfect if you need to stay outside the park because it's too packed during busy times.

Very very convenient to the park -- within walking distance to the visitor center. Not very private, but the views are outstanding! The campground books up way in advance - but keep checking if it looks booked as we lucked out for a spot. The campground is very large - but has clean facilities (no showers). We hiked the Watchman Trail (near the campsite) which was less crowded than some of the other trails and gave great views. Arrive early (or late) the day to avoid waiting in line at the entrance.
