Paradise Park Campground

A diamond in the rough (and by “rough” we mean lush, gorgeous forest), Paradise Park Campground is a gem of activity.

Camp along the shores of Paradise Park Lake, or if you’re looking to adventure off from the crowd, take Forest Road 296 to its end, and hike into one of the many charming and isolated lakes scattered along the northeast of Paradise Park.

The Deadman Lake Trail is open to hiking and horseback riding, but don’t let the name spook you (or your horse); it’s a popular trail for Scouts. Near the campground, a rustic 75-year-old guard cabin is available while there’s snow on the ground. The cabin sleeps four people in two bunkbeds, and up to five campers can pitch a tent outside. If you’re here in the summer, the campground’s high elevation makes the experience delightfully pleasant, when the heat is down below on the Uinta Basin. Keep an eye out, or at least a swatter ready, as horse and deer flies may be plentiful.
