5 sites · RV, Tent

Cedar Mesa Campground offers a simple, no-frills place to lay your head after playing in Capitol Reef National Park all day.

This no-fee (yes, it’s free) campground is located on the Notom-Bullfrog Road at an elevation of 5,500 feet. From the campsite, hop on the 4.5 mile round-trip Red Canyon trail that leads into a large box canyon, through pinyon and juniper trees. The site is open year 'round, but check conditions with the Visitor Center before you solidify your plans.

This is a primitive campsite. But so worth it! stunning views!

The site we had was gorgeous, tucked back in a tree lined area. The restrooms leave much to be desired and it's right beside the dumpsters, but the showers were hot and there were plenty to not have to wait.
