Browns Park Campground

Normally we’re all gung-ho and positive about the campgrounds on this site, but we’re going to shoot straight with you on this one.

Browns Park was once set in a beautiful forest of lodgepole pine, but recently that forest has been devastated by the dreaded mountain pine beetle, forcing the cutting down of many dead trees. You can expect a more open camping experience if you come here, and pine beetle woes aside, there are still loads of reasons a visit is worth it. The hiking and hunting are first-rate, and four-wheel driving is as popular as ever. The pine beetle is a nasty creature, but you can do the environment some good by supporting local woodcrafters that use this beetle-kill wood in furniture and other work.
