I am a working artist of many mediums; ceramics, copper, painting, collage, et al and proprietor of Behr Art Gallery & Gifts. Alongside this work, I  design spaces and events,  host workshops, markets, annual festivals, officiate weddings, and make my ever-morphing property available for others to share and enjoy. To that, I've spent nearly every day designing, decorating, reconstructing, reconfiguring and reworking this historic property, farm and gardens. The structures I've built and designed that are available for your retreat include the CABIN, the LOTUS, the  POND HUT and the TREE HOUSE.The Cabin  was  once a bunkhouse. The previous owners moved it (rolled it on logs) to its present location.  In doing so, the floor joists needed to be reattached and a foundation was constructed to stabilize the building. My brother and I cut, fitted, mudded, tied, nailed, plumbed, electrified  and created a marvelous space.  This is otherwise a working art studio,  organic farm and orchard, with ponds, shade trees, peace, quiet and some of the darkest skies for star gazing in the nation.My backstory:A Connecticut native, I moved to Silver City/Pinos Altos New Mexico in 1970 and then  to Glenwood in 1982. For twenty-two of those years, I lived on a ranch with a herd of horses and two donkeys, and my passion was endurance riding. After thousands of training hours, competitive miles, and sponsoring the Scorpion Sting Endurance Ride, I  gave it up for the life I now live on this land.

Our 80 acre facility includes campsites equipped with horse stalls, camp fire pit's, picnic table's, hook ups for water and power. Each site has its own hitching rail and separate hose hook up for watering/washing horses. We are a horse training ranch. There are 5 round pens, an indoor arena, very large outdoor arena with excellent footing, more than 6 miles of riding trails that are groomed and marked, an obstacle course, a wooden bridge and additional obstacles along the network of trails. We have a large picnic area with hitching rails for up to 30 horses, a large fire pit, a wooden dance floor and a cowboy cooking kitchen, great for parties. Two large enclosed barns and many turn outs with run in sheds. The "Twisted Tree Welcome Center is equipped with a bathroom with a shower, laundry facilities and two loft bedrooms available to rent for $45 per night. The owner is a John Lyons certified horse trainer and a level II Dressage certified instructor, Trish also has more than 20 years training horses and people all over the world. This is a great place to come, ride and camp with your horse. You can also pick up some great pointers from a world class trainer and instructor.

One side of the property line has a serviceable dirt road. The land has a slight incline but areas are flat enough for RV with levels. I got regular cell service on my phone when I was there on my mobile iPhone. No utilities. Good neighbor guidelines apply. Other neighbors have RVs and keep to themselves. No gas generators can be heard. Beautiful land on rolling hills. It’s located 3 miles from a brand new public library, a gas station, Family Dollar and an elementary school. Solar power and an RV toilet and enclosure would work out great. No neighbors bother you. All the RVers keep to themselves. Lake Concho has dried up in town. There is a Catholic Church, Baptist church and LDS church in town.
