Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

Hilltop Hideout
The property is beautiful. I was enjoying my coffee when I looked to my right and a young goat had joined me. It is so peaceful and quiet. I will definitely be returning. The ants were a bit of a nuisance. Couldn’t leave anything outside or it was covered in ants. But that’s nature. Site offers gorgeous views in all directions. Great for families

Peaceful Valley Sunset Oaks VW
Best van life experience
I loved camping in the van at their property. They were extremely kind, very helpful and answered any questions we had. The land was exceptionally beautiful and very quiet. We came to stargaze and we were very impressed. We would most definitely return again!

Granite Tabernacle Private Views
This place was absolutely awesome. The way they laid out the campsites is really cool and there’s plenty of areas to walk. My dog loved it. Very quiet and safe place. The people that work there are so nice. Would highly recommend.

Splitrock Valley - Jurassic Jungle
Book the Baby Goat Hr!
Had a great time at Splitrock! We stayed at Jurassic Jungle not realizing just how huge it would be for me and sister. We had separate tents but so much room, and great privacy from the other sites. I appreciated the nearby access to the water spigot at this site too. We purchased the 1hr of meeting/petting/feeding the animals, which became our favorite part of the entire stay! We knew they would be let out to roam but we didn’t expect them to make it all the way to Jurassic Jungle nor did we expect basically all of them at once! It was such a treat to experience while sitting back and relaxing in our camping chairs. Didn’t see/notice any events planned during our stay unfortunately (I would have loved to participate) but I’m hoping to be back regardless!
