NOTE: THIS IS FOR THE LOAFER CREEK CAMPGROUND AT LAKE OROVILLE SRA Lake Oroville was created by the Oroville Dam, which the State Department of Water Resources completed in 1967 after 5 years of construction. Lake Oroville conserves water for distribution by the State Water Project to homes, farms, and industries in the San Francisco Bay area, the San Joaquin Valley and Southern California. The Oroville facilities of the project also serve to provide flood control and smog free generation of electric power in addition to recreation. When the Lake is at its maximum elevation, it includes some 15,500 surface acres for recreation and 167 miles of shoreline. Recreation areas are spotted around the Lake and boaters can land at any point to explore the surrounding country. The lake offers a wide variety of outdoor activities including camping, picnicking, horseback riding, hiking, sail and power boating, water-skiing, fishing, swimming, boat-in camping, floating campsites and horse camping.

It was a wonderful experience. Our family truly enjoyed it. Felt peaceful and quiet. Bathrooms and showers were clean. The water area near by was not the best but we drove about 15 minutes out and had a great time.

Oroville Glampage
We slumbered 2 nights within a CA State Park campground (Coyote Campground, space 75 specifically)near Lake Oroville and overall I'd give it a 179 out of 200. Clean, sandy site with super solid concrete picnic table that you could probably bend steel on or pulverize...well, anything really. The off-white, circus tent you sleep in is GIGANTOR with lots of zippy vents and some pockets (could use maybe 1 more?) with super comfortable beds from which you stare up at the vaulted tent ceiling and think–is this even legal? Lots of trees, including one of my favorites – manzanita, bark of which peels like paper. We saw a coyote. I was going to wait to say that, bury the lead a bit more but, man, it was cool. Early. Like 6am. And suddenly keeping our lil' doggo leashed made mortal sense. Anyhow, lots of trees, allowing you to tie a drying line or high wire for squirrels. Bathrooms and showers. Yep, got 'em. Nature informationals posted near bathrooms under cloudy plexiglass? Got 'em too. What's not at site? Storage cabinet thing. Have gotten used to having one and felt weird without. Only other "points off" was the rangers having difficulty finding me in their system when we arrived, tired and hangry at the entry kiosk. Ignition turns off, heavy sigh. And you can't choose your neighbors – hello drunk, yelly dudes radio flexing. But look, we saw a sly coyote beast and we've never glamped before and this experience has us keeping it as an option in our excursion future.

Fun camping with family.
The tent was very comfortable and the area was very close to the showers and restrooms making for an easy convenient stay. The lake itself was a short drive away to enjoy some water fun on a hot day.

Basic glamping
The place is amazing! The campsite was good and we were placed next to the bathroom and showers. Beware though if you book this just know this is nothing but basic glamping they provide just the tent and 2 beds. We did not know and were kinda blindsided the day of. Luckily we brought everything. We will definitely be booking again. Now we know to bring everything else.

Lake Oroville Glamping
Great for family fun
Amazing and well equipped campsite. Everything we needed was available at the campsite. The facilities were also clean and well maintained. The lake was so close and full. Easy to find a spot to drop your stuff and get into the water. Really great time

Lovely campsite; kind hosts
Tents are big and spacious and supplies provided are perfect. They are also extremely responsive to requests and always try to work with you. I strongly encourage you to check the weather before booking. The hosts warned us of the heat but we went anyway and it was miserable. Fans are not enough to cool off when over 100’. Also the lake has barely any water and it’s not walking distance to cool off. You’ll need to drive to the aquatics center or riverbed park to get relief. We will go again when cooler
Location
Oroville East, Butte, California, United StatesTraditional, ancestral territory of Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla and Kojomk’awi (Konkow) First Nations according to To respect the Host's privacy, the precise address of this land will be provided after booking
