Let the dirt roads lead you to Little Bird Camp and you will find peace, quiet, adventure, and all of the forest bathing you can handle.
Nestled in in the heart of the Ozarks, Little Bird is your rugged home away from home. The roads leading up to the camp are easily accessible by any vehicle, bike, truck, or bicycle. You can make it! There are about five - six spaces for tent camping that provide ample space between them. You'll find a fire pit and a few necessities, if you are in need. The road is shared with only two other occupants on its mile-long duration, so if you're wanting to "get-away", this is the spot for you.
Little Bird is situated near the Headwaters of five rivers; throw a rock east into top of Kings River, across highway to SW into White River, SE to Little Mulberry, and west into War Eagle Creek plus just a few miles is head waters of the Buffalo River. It is about two miles away from Kings River Falls, as the crow flies, and is very easy to get to (an 8 minute drive if you're not a crow). If you don't want to deal with the population that may descend on Kings River trails, you can take a very small detour and spend some time at Dripping Springs; swimming, hiking, and admiring the blooming wild azaleas. Hawksbill Crag is only an 18 minute drive away!
BRING YOUR BIKES! This is so close to the Headwaters Trail System for those that would like to take on and explore the mountainous terrain.
Unfortunately/fortunately the cell service is spotty, but if an emergency happens, you will be able to make contact. But may not be able to stream hours on end (but like, no, get out and look at the trees!).
Pettigrew is only about 12 minutes away, if you are needing some necessities. Grab a Hooshburger and/or fries at the Pig Trail Bypass Country Cafe on Hwy 16. Watch the leaves change in the world renowned Ozark Autumn. Enjoy the way food can only taste made in a campfire. You deserve this. There are four - five flat areas for small/medium/large tents that will be easy to stake down. I am open to where folks would like to step up as long as it not destructive to the space. Trees abound for hammocks, just be careful and take care of them. There is a circle drive to go in and out of the site and two spaces for parking. You are welcome to park in the drive, too.
Please hike around the property, but please stay in the fenced in area on the back and to the west side. Hoping to build bike trails and am open in input!
There are bathroom amenities, not high falutin, but comfortable and gets the job done. I have a blue tote with some things you might need. I have black plastic bags for the trashcan in there, please use one if you need for the can and then take it with you. Take all waste with you and leave Little Bird how you found it🌻
